Fantastic ROKU 3..Blazing startup speeds I went from one of the orginal models to this one and boy was I surprised and very pleased. The start up speed is like no other out there. The speed to fastword and reverse is also fantastic. I am waiting for the price to break to buy another one.
Pros: Fast Setup, Simple Controls, Speed, Improved Audio/Video

I bought my first Roku a few years ago to be able to watch the Blaze (then GBTV). It stopped often to update data. Now I just bought the newest Roku with the memory card and it never stops to update. I use it for The Blaze and movies from Amazon prime. I recommend it to anyone that asks!

From the original Roku to the Roku 3 was like night and day. We love this thing and it gets used daily. It's great for what it is. And most of the real bothersome limitations are not really Roku's fault e.g., Netflix lack of advanced viewer permissions, Amazon's interface and lack of good filtering (show me free only!). That said, it could be improved: I don't really use the USB video feature mainly because it's too bothersome to figure out which formats are supported. I wish it could play anything I threw at it. And why not let me play files from a networked computer - that would be sweet. No component out options on this version - why not? Please give me an ondemand FioS channel. I don't use their set top boxes and that's the only thing I miss. Some sort of web interface for additional settings and quicker navigation. It would be cool if I could use my Roku to remove stuff from my instant queue and what not using a mouse and keyboard. Things I don't use: Games - I mean even my video game freak kids don't mess with the Angry Birds Space game that was included. But then Angry Birds is so worn out - that may be why. Channels - Holy Schmolly - there are a lot of channels available. And most of them are just about worthless. It would be interesting to see how many subscribers there were to some of these. Awesomeness: Speed. The interface is so much faster on this than my previous Roku. Remote. Simple, elegant, and smart. Maybe too easy to misplace. Roku App. I like the quick links to different channels.
Pros: Attractive Design, Universal Search, Fast interface, Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video, Simple Controls
Cons: No Fios On Demand, No DLNA, No local network stream, Usb Video Formats

We ditched cable 3 months ago and so far we have saved $130 a month We really like the roku. Only problem is we have had to reset it a few times....and sometimes we get sick of searching thru for something to watch- but we did that anyway:)
Pros: Money saver, Fast Setup

I use my Roku 3 to watch Huffpost Live, Netflix, Amazon Instant, IGN, and a lot more. One of the better aspects of the Roku is having a dedicated device with a remote. I don't have to use another device that is charging or my computer (massive resource overkill) for simply watching video. Roku navigates easier than any browser, loads fast and is consistently responsive to fast forward and rewinding video.
Pros: Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Attractive Design
Cons: No off switch

Ditching DirecTV as soon as I can

I am so busy these days with two kids that I rarely have time to watch TV and when I do, I appreciate that my Roku allows me to quickly search for something interesting and watch. I have accounts with Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu+ so just about everything I could possibly want is available to me. And for a whole lot less than the $110 I pay DirecTV every month! Man I can't wait to get rid of that bill! My kids aren't into TV. They are growing up on a diet of on demand content on their xbox so Roku is much more inline with what they are used to. Old fashioned TV is totally foreign to them. They have the luxury of picking from an endless stream of programming and watching it instantly! I think my head would have exploded as a kid if I had those kinds of options :) Roku ROCKS!
Pros: Fast Setup, Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Improved Audio/Video

We bought the Roku 3 in order to access Netflix and Hulu Plus from our TV. We had previously used a Wii console, but our son wanted to play his Wii games in his room, so we needed another option. The Roku was super easy to setup. You do need to purchase an HDMI cable to connect it to your TV. The remote is much easier to use than the Wii controller. The Roku menu offers many different channels to use in addition to Netflix and Hulu Plus. Some of them are free to use and others require a paid subscription. I would definitely recommend this product!
