This was really simple to set up! Your instruction cannot be improved upon. We use the item literally every day. I have only had a couple of minor issues with the remote: unable to communicate with the Roku from the remote. Once I unplug and plug it back in, itseems to work fine. They are pretty close together (no more than 10 feet). Overall performance is spectacular!! We'll never use the cable company "Pay Per View" again! Roku's quality is 100's of times better.
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup, Simple Controls

I gave an orignal Roku 1.0 as a gift to my retired parents several years ago. They're still using it. I bought the HD version the next year when I cut the Cable TV cord, and am still using it. Great product, extreme value. I bought the Roku 3 several months ago, it's a joy to own and again, a great value. - Newer remote, easy to use, with headphone jack - FAST - Reliable - Great audio/video quality (if source is HD, of course) - Tiny footprint - Wired ethernet gives ultra fast content load times - The flexibility/variety of content available is amazing

I use my Roku to stream movies that cannot be downloaded to my Android tablet due to compatibility issues. For that, it's great...easy to use and works fine very time. I also use it for streaming music when I'm working from home since the company doesn't allow access to radio stations from the laptop. I sometimes browse through content on the available free channels. I do find some good stuff. But I usually find that it's pretty limited and can be time-consuming to find much that way. Because I don't watch that much TV, pay channels just aren't worth the price to me. The search function for movies is great, though I don't use it that much because I tend to use one movie provider. I love the fact that the device is only about 3.5" x 3.5" so I can easily move it from room to room. And it doesn't take up much space, either.
Pros: Simple Controls, Attractive Design, Very portable, Fast Setup, Good For Streaming Movies
Cons: Limited Channel Content

Amazing product with a terrible remote

This product is amazing. If you are a Netflix, Hulu, and/or Spotify user, this product will make your life so much easier. Everything in one place. You would think it's the same as having a video game console. I have a PS3 and a WII and I will tell you, it is not the same. Roku's flow is flawless and so easy to use, you won't get random calls from other electronically-challenged members of your family asking "how to make the Netflix turn-on?" I am a cable user and the roku goes to constant use in my house anyways. My one gripe is the remote. It no longer works at all for me, it's been 3 months since I got my Roku. There is a iPhone app to solve that problem, the app is awesome. As for the remote, the battery dies extremely fast. Sometimes, when you press buttons, the TV would make the noise, but nothing would happen. That is the most frustrating thing ever. The headphone jack has much to be desired. It works for a bit then it cuts in and out; volume randomly resuming on the TV. You have unplug it and plug it back in, but this is only a temporary fix. Eventually, the remote died all together. Do not make the remote the reason you don't buy this product though, "there is an app for that." And the app is better than the remote anyway. Only thing you lose is the headphone feature. The general roku is fantastic and you won't remember life before you got one.

Cons: Does Not Improve Audio/Video

I bought because of ACORN offering, but love many other options/channels, many of which are free. I am still too new to really know the power usage, but I am close to dropping cable because of the breadth of programming offered. I LOVE it and now have bought several others for family members.
Pros: Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Attractive Design, Don't Have To Buy Dvds, Fun to explore, Improved Audio/Video

I love my Roku. I only have 2 issues one is that it does not have an on off switch so even if you turn off the tv it still runs unless you unplug it and 2 is that it drops offline pretty consistently which requires me to have to reset it often.

Great snappy device, but...

Use in bedroom and my old Bose Headphones work great with the remote. Occasional PSOD is annoying and should be fixed without me having to get up and re-plug everything. To be fair this has only happened twice but still...
