Great product & alternative to cable TV

After cutting the cable cord, we relied solely on our Roku for TV/movie entertainment. Paired with Netflix, Huluplus, and Amazon Prime, plus some of the other channels available on Roku, we have all the entertainment we need at a big cost savings. Quality is great, the new interface is a welcome upgrade from the 2009 model we had, and the response time is a huge improvement. Our TV did not have a headphone jack, and this feature on the remote was an extra bonus as we live right next to a noisy highway. Overall we are highly satisfied and recommend this product to anyone considering cutting the cable once and for all.

I only use it to watch Netflix because, yes there are a large number channels but the quality of those channels are terrible. Also, the GUI is a nightmare. At this point with the drop in prices of the Xbox 360, it is a much better deal than a Roku. i think it is subpar to GoogleTV. The best thing about the Roku box is that it is relatively cheap. However, with the recently popularity of Android on a stick, I believe Roku may find itself on the path to irrelevance.

Cons: Fingerprint Magnet, Poor Channel Layout, Poor Design

Great with a couple flaws

I have had the Roku3 for a little while now and have to say I like the features it has. It is more responsive the the 2 and has more features. Movies download and start much quicker. Now for the couple of issues I have. On more than one occasion I have had to reset the device in order to get the remote working again. This is a little frustrating. The other is if I switch to 1080P mode, which my LCD supports, it will sometimes give me pixelation in movies. When I bring it back down to 720 all is fine. So this is where I run it at.

I don't subscribe to Cable, so I use Roku on a daily basis as the main source of TV/Movie entertainment. I love how it loads most programs quickly and has a great interface. I have two negative comments: 1: The system freezes and I get error messages every so often forcing me to unplug/replug the Roku. 2: Roku should add a channel for Youtube.

My only complaint is that it freezes from time to time and I have to take the batteries out and reinstall them. Otherwise, an improvement over previous models. My daughter has the same problems with her Roku 3

some times the remote gets unhooked from the base but it is a quick reset.i really love it and use it every nite.
