Goodbye Comcast!

Excellent design and very easy to use. If you can plug in a toaster you can connect the Roku 3! If you cancel your cable/satellite package like I did this device will pay for itself within the first two months. I recommend the Roku 3 to everyone. I love the fact that there is a headphone jack on the remote so I don't have to buy an expensive setup to use headphones. My wife is able to fall asleep on the couch and I can continue to watch a movie without disturbing her. The only issue I've encountered with my Roku 3 was while connecting an external hard drive I keep movies on to the USB port. Rather than just showing me a list of files on the device I have a feeling it was scanning and cataloging the hard drive. As this was a 500 GB drive it was taking a very long time. After 30 minutes of what seemed like nothing happening I just gave up. I later connected a simple USB thumb drive to it with 3 movies and the files were quickly available for viewing.

Cons: No Built In Web Browser

Great for classic TV and Movies

I just BING " free streaming ROKU " and have come across so many interesting categories of shows. Yes I recommended it to family and friends especially if they think cable is too expensive.

Over great product. Playback via Amazon Prime works better than some of the SmartTV features (i.e.: LG, Samsung, and Sharp) apps. It has smooth 1080P playback. Support WIFI + Wired. Great with Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Hulu. The other apps it has in there, nice to have, but to me useless space. It does not have YOUTUBE playback, which is a bummer. No HBO Go playback, another downer.
Pros: Amazon Prime, Work Great With Playon, Great Playback 1080p, Fast Setup, Netflix, Simple Controls
Cons: No youtube, No HBO Go

In less than six months i have purchased to of these little streaming devices, the last one being the Roku 3. With both, the setup was a breeze, and the latest software update makes the layout for all your channels pretty neat. The only thing that would be great to have, either as an add-on, or standard, is a little wireless keyboard, which would make it much easier to do searches, register an account and enter passwords, etc.

Cons: Needs A Little Keyboard

Roku HD to Roku 3

I cut the cord and roku supplies all my entertaiment on my new 65" big screen.The new roku 3 has a much better picture on my new plasma then the hd roku. Have no idea why but it is night and day.I would like to see an addition in roku 3 that does what the new google device does (it allows you to wifi access to the internet through your computer)onto TV. I have converted several friends, they two cut the cord. By cutting the cable company out I paid for my new TV.

use it mostly for netflix and flixter. and no one seems to know the function os the roku wifi server? it interferes with my home wifi network
