Smaller and faster than the Roku HD ( two generations old). They upgraded the UI. Hulu runs much better on the Roku 3. Runs amazon prime very well and amazon cloud player.
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Simple Controls, Fast Setup

Does not support HBO GO on XFINITY/Comcast. This was a real Downer. What's the Roku WiFi signal that shows up but cannot connect to anyway

I ordered a spare power supply to make it even easier to move between the two rooms where we use it. It boots in seconds, not minutes like a cable box.
Pros: Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video

Overall I am very happy with my Roku upgrade. We had been using the original Roku which was considerably slower than this latest model. The speed and responsiveness of this new model is my favorite aspect for the upgrade. It is much faster than our old model. Second best feature, headphones on the remote! I love this as I watch late at night while the wife sleeps. My only complaint is that when I am watching a TV series it will loose episodes in the thumbnail selection window. The only way I can get to the new episode is to either unplug the unit or watch all the end credits and let it flow into the next episode. It doesn't do this a lot, but it is extremely annoying when it does occur.

Why did I wait so long ?

I purchased this device after using both the Apple TV and the WD media player. It has replaced them both and is far superior. The setup is quick, it works flawlessly and the user interface is simple. I also installed the "Plex" app which lets me stream my media from my Mac to my Roku with no problems at all. But, by far my favorite feature is that I can plug headphones into the remote and listen to the audio privately. It's not IR so it doesn't require line of sight for a connection, either. This is awesome since my wife works nights and I can listen quietly while she or the kids are sleeping. Why hasn't anyone done this before? I bought one to try out, used it for 24 hours and immediately bought another one for our second TV. Truly, this is an amazing, almost magical product. And it's less than 100 bucks. Killer. I could not be more pleased. Buy one for every TV in your house immediately. That is all.

Content is great - Wireless is awful

The interface is excellent, the content is unbelievable, and when the device works properly, this is an unbelievable product. I primarily use it for Hulu and Netflix. I would give it 5 stars if I could stop here. Unfortunately, there are two MAJOR flaws. 1) I get disconnected from my wireless network a few times a month. I have to reset the Roku to get reconnected. If that doesn't work, I am forced to regularly change settings on my wireless router (e.g., DNS, channel), then the Roku stays connected for a few weeks, then gets disconnected again. I also move the Roku to different places on my entertainment center regularly to combat this. ALL my other devices (phone, laptop, etc.) work fine, in the same area of the room. 2) 1080P disconnects the Roku from my wireless router. Every time I change one of these wirelss configurations or Roku locations, I try 1080P - it works for about a day, then disconnects from wireless until I change back to 720P.

Cons: Wireless Is Flaky, 1080p Causes Problems
