Great device!

My wife and I decided we wanted to cut our cable. We made the decision to stream much of our content over the internet and watch the over the air channels. We researched the various products out there and started with another product. We were not satisfied with the functionality. We then tried the Roku 3 and we are very satisfied with our decision. The great thing about the Roku is the channels available compared to the small number on the other product. We have recommended this product to our family and friends and freely recommend it to anyone that wants to make their life easier.
Pros: Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Attractive Design

I haven't had cable TV for several years. I recently moved, and the antenna reception didn't offer me much to watch on TV, and I missed the time shift capability that I had with cable (on demand and attached DVR), since I'm not always home when the shows that I like are on. I originally set up my roku with just the content that I can get for free, but recently added Amazon Prime, Netflix streaming and Hulu. I have more available to me than I can possibly watch. Probably the one thing I wasn't expecting from the Roku that I love a lot is getting streaming radio (Pandora, TuneIn, etc.) I love having this available without having to use my computer for it (or my phone). i can listen to my local public radio station or a station of all mashups or classical music. Maybe this is sad, but I've never even hooked up my old stereo with CD player/FM radio or my DVD or (yes, I still have one) VCR. I think all of those things and their related media may be on their way to the electronic boneyard soon.

Great over wifi

Best purchase I have made in a long time. Got this and got rid of Dish. I am saving close to $30 a month and watching more TV and better programs! No more channel surfing (unless you like that then there could be plenty of that with all the channels available through Roku. I like it so much I might get another for my internet capable TV, it just works better.

I was pleased with the ease of setup and adding channels. I've already downloaded over 100 channels. There is so much movie, games, informational and game channels to choose from. I have found trying to decide what to do or watch with so much content can consume some time because I am not sure what I want to watch next. I guess You Tube might be the only thing not on this platform. But with so much content available you don't miss it. Even if you have a Smart TV I would recommend getting it as an Extra benefit especially if you want to get off cable.

This is a good device although one major drawback is it is limited outside of the country. In Mexico I could not get Amazon Or Netflix due to licensing restrictions.

We are binge watchers of our favorite TV series. We love having TV that is commercial free and flexible. We can go back and review something we missed leading to better understanding of the program. We also love the subtitles!
