Must reboot constantly

My unit locks up when not in use and I have to re-power unit each day I use it. Support says my internet connection is weak or inconsistent - my internet phone and wifi to 2 laptops work without a hitch and the Roku is closer to my router. After repowering the unit it works well until I go to use it the next time.
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Fast Setup, Attractive Design, Simple Controls

Great but search could be better

Product is very easy to set up and use, but I wish that I could customize more to allow me to find programming on my own favorite channels.
Pros: Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Attractive Design
Cons: Limited Channel Search

I really like this product, setup was super fast. Initially, it sometimes seemed to take forever to stream video from Amazon. I did a little research and decided to upgrade to a dual-band router. That made all the difference, no more slow streaming, freezing, etc. I have a feeling my cable company is going to lose another customer!

Stlll have Crashes like my Roku1

For the mostpart..deep breath....the R3 has been better than the R1 .R1 would crash and reboot quite often several time a month... where the R3 has only crashed 3 time I think.The reboot is quicker on the R3...the interface is better too.

Initially, I was connecting my tvs to netflix, amazon prime and hulu through my video game consoles. I was (and I repeat "WAS") happy using the video game consoles primarily to stream videos, but the ROKU is sooo much faster than what I had previously connected through. I got the ROKU as a Bday gift and didn't really know much about it. Since I've hooked it up (which is super easy and fast), I noticed major improvements for home use. A few examples are that it (ROKU) doesn't freeze at all by comparison to my other devices. (Freezing is super rare. It's only happened twice in about 4 months and both times I left the ROKU on overnight, without being used until morning. It has never frozen on me during video watching or actual use... BTW it only takes literally about 15 seconds to reset the ROKU and then it's good to go again). I absolutely love the "10 sec rewind" button, but its general ability to fast forward or rewind, without taking a long time to load or buffer, is the real selling point to me for this. To my knowledge, nothing else works even remotely as efficiently as the ROKU does. I'd say load times are almost instant and are about 1/10th the time of what loading takes on my other devices. Further more, this is my first online review and I'm only doing it because I've been able to get into so many more shows and movies because of how quick this thing is, that I actually seriously appreciate this products capabilities enough to recommend it. I hardly ever watch my DVR or regular tv now (except for baseball). I'm also very happy that this allowed me to get rid of an annual online membership cost to one of my video game consoles(just so I could access the netflix app. It used to drive me crazy to pay for Netflix, my home internet and then have to pay yet another additional charge, just to make the two work together. I don't play video games online, so running video through the video game console was a total ripoff to me.) The only cost for the ROKU is the upfront cost of the hardware. All the other charges are just the standard charges from app memberships. I highly recommend this to anyone who uses streaming video providers. This device is the best thing to happen to my tv since the invention of the DVR! It's also nice that the ROKU is so small. The unit hardly takes up any space and is sleek and modern looking. Again, I Love this thing. In my opinion, if you stream video at home, this is an absolute must have.

Good, but not as good as I thought

For a device that's supposed to play video, I am extremely disappointed that DLNA playback is not included. It will play video but not over your home network unless you use a third party app like Plex. The USB playback channel is rudimentary at best. It looks like it was designed by a 5-year-old. There is no on screen info during playback. It won't even tell you the name of what you are watching. I like some of the live streaming channels however they often become broken and never work again. You constantly have to find new ones. I guess I expected a little more from a device I paid so much for. I used to have XBMC which is free and expected the Roku to be better. Also, I don't understand why it has to be always on. Why is there no OFF button? It seems extremely wasteful.
