I was Apple TV fanatic since the first one. Friends kept telling me about the Roku and had to try one. Bought the Roku3, switched everything over to PLEX add some free channels! Im rocking this thing everywhere. I like that I can travle with it and its great that I can stream movies to it at family gatherings or my photos! You send me one for free im such a huge fan!
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup, Simple Controls, Improved Audio/Video, It's Not Fruittv

The only gripes I have with this is... 1- The volume is too loud when switched over from the Cable input to the Roku input, in other words, I have to turn the TV volume way down before switching to the Roku, or else I'm in for a shockingly loud audio. 2- No off switch. 3- DHCP Only, not able to set static IP from the Roku, but this can be done from the Router with DHCP reservation. Extras... 1- Lots of add-on channels available from the web which are not on the Roku website. Search for "Roku Private Channels" and a whole new plethora of channels will be available to add to the Roku. Careful though, some may be unsuitable for youngsters. 2- A favorite of mine is the webcam channel which I use to get a webcam stream from the local mountaintop webcam, which is beautiful.
Pros: Fast Setup, Lots Of Add-ons Available, Lots of channels, Simple Controls
Cons: No Static Ip Config, No off switch, No volume control

We use it for Hulu and Netflix primarily, and the app integration is seamless! They really work quite well. I wish Hulu wouldn't restrict certain shows to the web, but that's not Roku's fault. :) The uptime and stability of the Roku platform is great! I would love to see more come from Roku in terms of content. And also an easy way to reboot (occasional GPU lag).

Cons: Can Not Arrange Channels, No Bookmarks Or History, Dropped Non-hdmi Support

Fast and friendly

We use the Roku for streaming movies and shared videos on Metatube as well as the weather app and pandora. I was easily able to sync the tablet to use it as a control and to play my music file through the Roku. I purchased a USB memory stick to store movies on and now use the Roku rather than burning rewritable DVDs which has saved time and allowed for blue-ray quality files. This device runs very fast and smooth for netflix and everything else I've used it for. The only thing that I would change is that I would like to be able to purchase specific channels such as HBO or Discovery, I prefer not to have a cable subscription but would like to be able to subscribe for the channels that I want for a set block of time (1 month/1 year)

As we do not live in the continental US it is sometimes difficult to directly stream movies. Roku solves this issue. We also noticed an increase in streaming reliability in using the Roku Box instead of streaming from our DVD player. All in all a great device and great upgrade for our entertainment technology. We have bought multiple units.
