I owned Roku HD and I enjoyed it and based on that I decided to upgrade to the Roku 3, and I don't regret it. I use it to watch Netflix, Crackle, Disney and Listen to Pandora.
Pros: Simple Controls, Fast Setup
I would recommend this to a friend!

Used to connect older HDTV to Internet applications, and was AMAZED at how well this little guy works. Stunning 1080P picture, hi-def surround sound really is impressive. Love this little guy. Only (and very minor) complaint is that Roku3 heats up and locks up occasionally, which requires removing power cord and re-inserting. No problem, but likely an R&D item which will be addressed soon.
Pros: Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Fast Setup
I would recommend this to a friend!

The 2TB attached storage limit is a strong negative. Still struggling with ANY USB attached storage functioning.

The Roku 3 is a minor upgrade of the 2 XS. It includes a faster processor, headphone jack for the remote, and drops support for analog TVs (HDMI out only). It does what it does well, and at reasonable cost and power consumption. Roku still needs to add a WiDi receiver, and an integrated browser for shared media in a home network (including cloud drives). Channels for YouTube and Google TV would be nice. HDMI in/out jacks and a PIP function would be very cool. A full web browser would be icing on the cake, but would require a keyboard (virtual? Bluetooth?).
Pros: Fast Simple Setup, Small And Low Power, Great Netflix interface, Easy To Use Works Well
Cons: No Home Net Media Browser, No YouTube Support, No Internet Browser, No Widi Support
I would recommend this to a friend!

Makes your TV really smart

My TV is "smart" but lacks software for some services. My BD player is "smart" but slow and awkward to use. Roku has all the "smart" features of both in a small, unobtrusive box. Controls couldn't be simpler. It is easier to just pick up the Roku control than to use my Logitech remote, which was supposed to make TV easy again.
Pros: Simple Controls, Attractive Design, Fast Setup
