You won't be disappointed!

I did not want to pay the rising cost of the not so competitive TV market and ROKU is definitely the answer. It was easy to purchase, easy to install and easy to operate. I haven't touched on the other 99% of what is available because I'm still so mesmerized at my particular area of interest and the vast array of choices. The area of my interest is at no charge, but for a small fee per month (less than $2) I can broaden my viewing base with choosing select subject interests. I'm not kidding. Even if you are so attached to your cable or satellite dish viewing, I would try ROKU along side and you too can one day be free!

I bought the Roku 3 about a month ago. I only gave it three stars for a few reasons. First, it was the only one that offered an ethernet connection. Wifi in my opinion is not as good as a direct ethernet connection. Second, I use headphones all the time to watch TV, hdmi sound is not an option and the only way to get heaphone audio was to get a Roku that lets you get audio by plugging into the remote. Because of this I was not aware that leaving the headphones plugged in all the time would drain the remote batteries. I was having to change them at least once a week if not more. One Roku has one option, a different Roku has another option but none of them have it all. I would have been happier with the Roku 3 if it had the ethernet connection and audio connections on the back of the machine, not the remote. I could have purchased a DVD player for less, that streams Netflix and Amazaon Prime and others, has ethernet and wifi, has audio connections and I could have watched DVD's on it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great product but a few bugs

I think this is a great product and after using it a few weeks think overall it's a great product. The problem I have is it will drop the wireless signal and the only way to get it back is to reboot the wireless router and then it will reconnect. It will detect the wireless network but won't connect to the local network until the router is reset. This is very annoying and from reading comments a common problem. Always show error code 14.

I was late to pick this up. I am 73 and this is quick and easy and opens a whole new world. Movies, travel, etc.

We enjoy our little Roku. I use it to access Net Flix and Hulu. I would like it to have a few more free channels than I am finding (including some free content from Roku please) but overall I like the selection. On the down side the Roku likes to shut down and restart on occasion (when you least expect it). Other than that I have 0 performance issues with it.
