I bought this product and sorely disappointed by the hype that never produced any good results.

Awesome, but lacking one BIG feature

I have both an AppleTV and a Roku, and I find myself using the Roku way more frequently. Compatibility with all my devices (as opposed to just iOS devices), WAY more viewing options, and an open-source feel all make me like the Roku way.
Having said that, my Roku 3 has one major flaw: it is missing a separate digital audio output. My AppleTV has it, and allows me to connect to my surround sound without having a TV that offers audio passthrough (mine doesn't, and many still don't). So, I'm stuck listening to my TV's speakers or using the remote headphone jack (which drains the batteries). In theory, I could purchase additional equipment or perform surgery on my TV to tie in the audio to the surround sound, but the point is I shouldn't need to do that.
Other than that fairly big issue, I love my Roku!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Takes to much work to use. Disappointed.

Have yet to find time to figure it out. My husband played with it a bit....not much further ahead. Feels like we have no t.v.

mostly good movies

I do enjoy the Roku player. At one point in time, I was getting several movies that I did not want to watch. After talking to an associate with Roku, I expressed the types of movies that I prefer. Shortly after that, I noticed there were several movies that I like, and I had the choice of watching them.
I would recommend this to a friend!

No problems so far. Easy to use and no bumps or humps while viewing internet programs like Netflix...

I bought 3 of these recently for different rooms in my house to get away from Dish and 2 work nearly as well as my Xbox360 for streaming Netflix and Hulu Plus. However the one nearest to the wireless modem has a horrible time playing a TV show in 720p without stopping every 2-3 minutes. I noticed when I received it that it was already registered to another user and had to clear the information, so maybe it is defective.
I would recommend this to a friend!
