needs to get with ?

for the tech available in todays times and also the future, way to many steps for limited use. for I have found its not as good as cable. get bored looking and looking.
not worth money or time. it says some thousand channels, it would take forever to even find and most are only clips. I gave it 2 stars for it makes a great over expensive paper weight.

you need to provide credit card to install it (yes, for testing too.)
No local sound output (Does NOT work with a standard Home Theater setup)

Missing Feature

It does Netflix great, windows shares ok, but does not have the slingplayer app. Had to replace with the wdtvlive to get a slingplayer capable unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

i've had this for about 2 months and I have not used it i have no idea how it works my neighbor told me about it and he said I can get rid of my cable as of now I still have cable and I still do not use this gadget.

Returned after a week

This was my 4th Roku and I've been really pleased with the others. This one, however, I did not like. It constantly disconnected from my router (4-5 times per day) and on the last few days before I returned it to Costco, all of My Channel icons had disappeared. The small rectangles that represented the various channels were visible but the corresponding images associated with those screen areas were missing. Also, the biggest problem I had - and it may not be Roku's fault - was with the Netflix interface. It was totally different from my other Roku devices. The shows that I had queued under My List were so tiny on my 47" screen that I needed a pair of binoculars to read them from my chair. Also, there was a feature that continuously played episode from series. For example, I started to watch Fringe Series1Ep1. When it was over, Netflix automatically started Series1Ep2 and so on. I am with Comcast and they have a Bandwith limit now in place. If I fall asleep in front of the tube or walk away without turning Netflix off, I don't want my bandwidth wasted on programs I am not watching. There was no way I found to resize the icons nor turn off the automatic play.
When I returned the Roku 3, I ordered a Roku 2 from Amazon. I have it installed now and it works very well. None of the problems mentioned above. I would recommend Roku to friends but NOT Roku 3.

THE OLD FORMAT WAS BETTER

I've owned R3 for about 6 months. Sometime in there y'all changed the format. Now you show big pictures of scenes but the type is so small it is barely readable. There's is plenty of room to display readable type. If one wants to restart a video, there is no control on the unit to do so. The video must be rewound to the beginning. Thast's a pain.
I love the simplicity of tge R3, your content is great and the system is very easy to set up. Hopwever, the unit requires resetting often and the volume control on the ear buds stopped working after a week.
But for the above problems, you would get 5 stars
I would recommend this to a friend!

Simple and Entertaining

I bought the Roku because I was tired of my old DVD player's poor streaming of Netflix. I was surprised with the additional apps that come with it. The user interface is intuitive and nicely designed. There is little to no delay in the use of apps. Nothing to complain about this little box.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not worth the money

I've had the Roku 3 for several months and have had to reset twice because of issues.  It wasn't compatible with my router which was an added cost.  Nearly everything that is worth watching is an additional subscription.  I thought I researched the Roku thoroughly but not much info to suggest all of the additional subscriptions required to get the desired programs.  Not sure I would have purchased the Roku if I knew then what I know now.
