Without youtube and twitch support, I hardly use it. I would probably go with a boxee if I had to do it over again.

Roku 3 is the Best Choice

This product is great if you like to watch movies or television shows and you don't want to deal with the commercials as you have to watching a typical cable TV channel. I find that all of my entertainment needs are satisfied just having Netflix and Hulu subscriptions which are less than $20 a month. If you really can't find something to watch then you can rent a movie through your Roku on Blockbuster or through Amazon. They also have sports channels as well. I have an Apple TV box as well but prefer the Roku 3 player.
Pros: Lot Of Channels, Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video, Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Fast response

Roku 3 Remote is Wonderful

I purchased the Roku 3 because I have other Rokus and they are wonderful. I've had other streamers and Roku is far superior. It's an easy setup and much more convenient when using Netflix. I upgraded to the Roku 3 because of the handy remote with earbuds. I can watch Netflix as late as I want and won't disturbe anyone in the house. The earbuds are very, very comfortable. The only thing to be aware of is that you will go through 2 AA batteries in the remote faster than other remotes. I assume that is because of the built-in headset and game controller feature of the remote. I love this remote though. I expect high quality from Roku and I get it.

It's ok but freezes from time to time. At FiOs 75mbps I would think it would be fine. The downfall is there are really not enough "new" movies or shows added to justify dropping cable which was my plan. It's OK if you want to watch the xfiles series and such but that is with amazon prime on script. Crackle and Popcorn flix have annoying commercials that are much much louder than shows. By the way....all the free stuff is reallly old B movies or worse. Roku should really develop one great channel to promote free services better. But the time you buy the unit, a few scripts and pay for new movies, your back to real cable fees!

NO LOCAL CHANNELS! Ugh!

I like the fact that I can get all of my cable channels through an app, EXCEPT local channels. If I had done my research and found out I could not get local channels, I would not have purchased it. I like that it's wireless and I can stream movies and other shows. The lack of local channels really upsets me. That is partly what I wanted it for.

I purchased Roku 3 because the channel I watch is available on Roku 3 for free. I got tired of paying for cable because of the one channel I like to watch. It is a pretty good device, although it loses connection even though connected through an Ethernet cable. Although it loses connection sometimes more than I think it should, I still choose it over cable 100%. For me, it paid itself off in 2 months, and the pros far outweigh the cons. Go get you a Roku 3!
