INCOMPLETE DEVICE

Good product with the exception of no audio out. So in my home I would like to have audio play in different zones which means I need to use the zone 2 audio in on my amp. However there is no audio out from this device. I have to buy another device that takes the HDMI out from the ROKU and breaks out the audio into digital and analog outs.
Pros: Simple Controls, Attractive Design, Fast Setup
Cons: Lacks Audio Out

There is no off switch on the remote or the device. I have to unplug it to shut it off. That is ridiculous.

Have the Roku on a tv without a cable box so we can watch shows in the bedroom and not spend the extra cash on another cable box. Works great with Amazon Prime. However, the remote disconnects from the unit all the time. I spend too much time waiting for the remote to sync every time I want to use the Roku 3. iPhone App works well all the time, just the regular remote gives me issues. Is there a fix?

Missing some critical features

Pros explained: I love that there is a headphone jack on the remote, and that it comes with ear buds. Although, changing out the ear bud cushions to adjust size is near impossible. I love how responsive the menu is. You can quickly navigate, which isn't always a high priority with some of these media boxes. It's rare to find a media box that offers an Amazon Prime app. Cons explained: The "Wii-like" controls used in game apps like Angry Birds just plain doesn't work. It's ridiculous that the volume buttons on the remote are only for the headphones. The lack of YouTube has been rumored to be due to problems with the official YouTube app. Maybe it crashes a lot, or it's a resource hog? I don't know. Roku should just make their own YouTube app already. The lack of YouTube was a big disappointment. The deal breaker for me was that I assumed all media boxes provided access to local network shares. This surprisingly was not the case with the Roku 3. It's something so obvious to include that I didn't even bother to check for the feature before purchasing it. There are apps for playing back files from directly connected USB drives - it seems an obvious next step to make an app that will play files over a network, too. There is the Plex app that allegedly streams videos off a PC or Mac that has Plex Media Server installed. After days of letting PMS scan my files, there were at best a handful that it recognized. I attempted to stream some of them and it failed hard. I boxed up the Roku and replaced it with a WD TV Live. It had all the features I liked about the Roku, plus all the things I felt the Roku was missing. The navigation menu was not as fast as the Roku's, but a recent firmware update has sped it up a bit. It has a YouTube app, but it's kind of clunky and very slow. Still, it's the best "includes absolutely everyting" media box I can find so far. Come on PopCorn Hour! When you will support Hulu, Amazon and Netflix so I can stop messing around with these other cheap media boxes?!

Cons: No volume controls, No youtube, No Lan File Access

I use the roku just about every day and it is extremely easy to use and just works!! I have issues with plex, but unsure if it is related to the plex server computer vs roku vs plex software. Need more investigation to figure it out.

Best Roku Yet!

I've owned a Roku since they started, and this is by far the fastest, smoothest experience yet. I use it every day to watch movies and/or TV shows using a combination of Vudu, Netflix, and Hulu Plus, and I couldn't be happier. I've also purchased one for my Dad and he loves it as well.
Pros: Attractive Design, Powerful Search Engine, Faster Os

Great software; ethernet port died @4mos

The ethernet port died on my Roku 3 after 4 months of use. Wifi still works, but I'm disappointed the hardware isn't more reliable.
