BEST LITTLE BLACK BOX I EVER MET

SHOULD BE SOME WAY TO RUN AN ANTENNA OR ETC FROM THE BOX AROUND THE CORNER TO PICKUP THE INTERNET. I CANNOT HAVE IT IN MY BEDROOM BECAUSE I LIVE IN AN APT AND ALL THE CORNERS IN THE APT HAVE THE HEAVY METAL CORNERS THAT ARE THEN PAPERED AND PAINTED OVER AND IT IS TO KEEP THE CORNERS OF THE WALLS FROM GETTING DAMAGED, BUT IT ALSO IS A BARRIER TO TNE ROKU PICKING UP THE SIGNAL FROM MY INTERNET. SO IT KEEPS ME FROM HAVING A ROKU ON MY BEDROOM TV. IF YOU HAVE A SOLUTION I WOULD BE HAPPY TO HEAR IT.

Lots of networks and channels.

The assortment of channels is overwhelming. It seems like if it is available as a streaming service it's on here. All the majors, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon are here plus hundreds of indie and specialized feeds. Kind of like what cable television was promised to be like back in it's infancy but never achieved. Installation was extremely easy. It found my router and connected quickly after I provided my password. The only difficulty is the need to run from TV to computer to enter the device security code. The competing services share this annoyance.
Pros: Fast Setup, Attractive Design, Number Of Channels, Simple Controls

Problems With Their Remote Controller

From the very beginning I thought the system was freezing, until I realized it was the Remote Control that was losing sync with the device. As a software engineer I hit Google and went through the many articles addressing this issue. While it now works about 80% of the time, I have to continually find my iPhone where the Remote Control App is installed to use my ROKU. Poor design and a major pain in the neck.
Pros: Attractive Design, Great selection, Improved Audio/Video, Fast Setup
Cons: Remote Loses Link, Poor Remote Connectivity

Great Roku but restricted use of HD

Very fast when downloading movies and very good picture Quality. However it eats up too much broadband usage when you have 150 GB's per month. Had to take it off HD picture quality with Netflix settings to watch several movies per month. HD movies eats up 2.3 GB's per hour and this defeats the purpose of having a super HD model Roku.

Fantastic

A first-release Apple TV fan but Roku surpasses. Use it for Netflix and Amazon, primarily, but there is a ton of other content. Have not tried adding my own content via hard drive or flash drive. Expect format limitations. I still use Apple TV, particularly AirPlay and some iTunes content. But Roku is a great competitor and well worth $99. I wonder what will be added in the future.

Cons: Setup Can Be Tricky

Has a lot of channels which you still have to subscribe to already on cable or pay an extra monthly fee. If already paid for the box, all channels should be free.

Lots of channels but nothing to watch. The only decent channels are going to require a monthly subscription or fee. The "free" movie channels will show the same commercial over and over every 10 minutes until you go crazy. With the advent of "smart" TV's, I don't know why anyone would need one of these.
