got it for a birthday present.. Thought it might not work because my wifi is a bit iffy. However, after a painful and non straightforward setup session, it worked right away and in every way I could have asked.. Great product.. afraid content owners will try to steal idea.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This was a spur of the moment purchase for me. someone had offered one on the local free cycle, and around the same time I saw a refurb on sale and decided to try it. I should have taken a bit more time and done a bit more research. I don't have cable tv, and don't generally watch tv. I don't have paid hulu, or other fee for service "entertainment" - not much worth paying for IMHO. Much of what Roku offers is for a fee, not for free, so it is not for me. (kinda rhymes ;^)

I purchased the Roku 3 in the hopes that I would be able to use it to watch the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. You can't get NBC with the Roku 3 device. I considered keeping it for all of the other options it offers but after 'playing' with it I found that I could live with out it so I returned it.

Problems: TV to Roku and back
on March 23, 2014

I am not able to move from TV to Roku or from Roku to TV. Since there is no on or off button, I have to unplug the Roku each time. From Roku to TV, I get to the TV indicator but clicking on it gets no results. It just sits there. Very frustrating. Need better instructions.

NOT WORTH IT unless you're on cable or such.

I bought this Roku 3 about 2 months ago, and it's just not worth it. I even bought a Cisco wireless router to go with it, and increased the speed from my provider. I still spend much, much time spooling, almost as much as I watch. Also - not many things are actually free except really old cartoons, and I can only retain interest................(spooling)..................in between spooling for FREE old cartoons. I would return it if I could. Maybe it will be worthwhile in a few more years, like version Roku 8 or Roku 17. Or I will suddenly get very rich.

Remote won't sync

I've tried multiple times to get the remote to sync and work. Tried new batteries, nothing worked. I just use my iPhone as the remote. That works fine. I like my Apple TV MUCH better.
