Many Problems with roku3

I have a roku1, roku2, and a roku3. I would not recommend the 3 as it has been nothing but problems since i bought it a year ago. It looses sign in information regularly requiring re-entry of log in information. The netflix interface has changed 3 times and the current version is worthless and unreadable on a screen smaller than 40". Now every time I log in to netflix I have to pick between regular and kids version, one more click which is not necessary on roku 2 or 1. Quite honestly if my only choice is a roku3 I would look for another device for streaming. Roku has taken an excellent device and turned it into a piece of junk

Lacking polish

Bad - User interface is cumbersome - UI is not logical to navigate - Advertisements on the start page - Forgets user credentials if unplugged a short amount of time - iPhone application is lacking - When pasting a password on the iPhone for a Roku application, it puts the characters in the wrong order - iPhone application doesn't easily find the Roku - Unable to find a way to turn off the Roku through the UI - LED on Roku is bright - Required to register including a credit card to use the Roku at all
Good - Ability to download applications -Remote doesn't require line-of-site
I would suggest an Apple TV over the Roku.

I purchased my Roku3 and was disappointed from the start when I was asked for a CC and could not go any further in the setup until I provided that info

I bought my roku 3 at best buy, I had a sony google product before and I loved it I thought id try this out because I heard good things, I ended up returning it because everything had some kind of fee or you had to sign up and I got charged for something that I didn't buy on my roku account.

THE REMOTE DESPERATELY NEEDS A BUILT IN KEYBOARD. COMMON, YOU ARE THE ONE PUSHING SITES LIKE HULU AND MANY OTHERS WHICH HAVE SEARCH FUNCTIONS. ARROW BUTTONS DONT CUT IT IN 2014

I have been unable to set up as of yest. The password we first signed up did not work! have not had time to spend trying to get another and start over.Maybe next weekend. out of town alot. Would not let me post without rating...i am guessing average at this point.

can't beat it

We have two Roku 3. We bought an interior RCA antenna ($60, Radio Shack) we get local news & networks. Now there are no $1.99 fees, only our monthly internet charge. We are very pleased to be relieved of overpriced cable/fiber optic bills.

For the channels that wanted you could not get and really did not care for what they did offer. Returned to store that I bought it from.
