Nice Job

The new Roku box is nice. I don't use it for games so it doesn't seem that much better than the old one.... which I also like very much. But it is so difficult to search or interact with the box in general and with Netflix in particular. It needs a keyboard. How about an optional wireless keyboard. I know that failed with some assembly years ago, but the new experience is heads and shoulders better than the one that failed. .... name escapes me. My biggest complaint about the Roku experience is that I have to sign up, and give out my credit card to every company whose streaming I want to watch. That is something I won't do. So I pay Netflix each month and don't watch anything else. Well not quite true I just signed up with Amazon because they already had my credit card on file. I guess I should say something about the ear phone you added. Big deal. How many people will use that. Nice to have, but it sure isn't a revolutionary change. And the new, icon layout is nice, but it isn't a big improvement.
Pros: High quality picture, Reliability, Easy to use, Compact, Built in Wi-Fi, Great value, Easy to set up

The search limitations imposed on the Netflix Library is major flaw. Not being able to search by genre or actor is very annoying.
Pros: Fast Setup, Simple Controls
Cons: Titles With Netflix, Is A Software Issue With, The Roku 3, You Can Only Search By, According To Netflix This

MY KIDS AND I LOVE THIS GADGET. THEY'LL PLAY ANGRY BIRDS ALL DAY IF I LET THEM. THERE ARE SO MANY CHANNELS TO WATCH THAT I'VE DOWN GRADED MY CABLE TV PACKAGE WHICH HAS SAVED ME $$$. THERE IS NO LAG OR STALLS LIKE I'VE EXPERIENCED WITH OTHER MEDIA DEVICES. I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT.
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Attractive Design, Fast Setup, Simple Controls
Cons: Youtube Is Not An Option

I bought it to save money by getting rid of cable, but it doesn't really do that. If I ever want to sit back and turn on the TV to just decompress for a few minutes I cannot do that because I need to spend time looking for something something. The idea is great, but there are really few decent options. There are tons of channels that are worthless and the ones that are I use are Netflix and HBO go. But i have to search something out and it basically means that if I want to watch something it has to be a movie or TV show.
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video
Cons: Difficult Typing

I bought it for only one reason "gaiam tv" ... I am on a slow 3 mb DSL so it does buffer alot .... No Youtube at last check.. will do Amazon Video.. or so it says ....

I purchased this unit to stream HBO To Go but since I have Directv, I could not use it for that purpose. It was not until I set the player up and went on the internet to finish the process when I learned that it would not work for me. I wasted about 3 hours of my time purchasing the item, trying to set it up and then having to bring it back. The packaging led me to believe that the device could be used for that purpose but it can only stream HBO To Go if you are using Dish Network. I brought the device back to the retailer :(

We don't have cable, so we bought the Roku 3 to check out Netflicks and other streaming movie services. Disappointed in how few of the movies we want to see are on those services; they carry mostly junk, B and C movies. The search boxes are cumbersome and slow to use to spell out title words. My wife has hearing loss, and most of the non-movie channels don't have closed captioning, and many have poor quality video. For someone without those limitations, this might be a good buy.
