Great Product... IF... You're Not Wanting Fox News

I returned the Roku 3, because it was not what it was represented to be. I wanted it to replace my cable tv service, not to watch movies and tv shows. I needed Fox News Channel, Fox Business Channel, CNBC and maybe Lifetime and Hallmark, most of which Roku does not offer.
Oh... they will tell you they offer Fox News Channel... but... the fact is... they don't, nor do they offer Fox Business Channel or Hallmark.
So... if all you want to do is watch tv shows, Netflix, Hulu, and a few other mindless channels... I'm sure it's fine... but... I'm bored by such trivia... and... I was very disappointed to find it wasn't as represented by Roku, or Best Buy!

I do not like that you can not find a movie by an actor in movie. I do not know titles of movies. I would like to be able to find a movie by actor.

Only works with HD TVS!

Got this as a gift and didn't realize it doesn't work unless you have an HD TV. Do you guys plan on switching to HD TVs only? Cause that's really not cool.
Pros: Attractive Design
Cons: Hdtvs Only

There are a huge number of cables required to get everything up and running from the telephone line splitter/modem/computer/Ethernet fast switch/router/ROKU to actual TV viewing plus TV Ethernet connection similar to ROKU. Plus, the 2-3TB USB 3 external HD/all in one printer/slide scanner/external USB 2 extra connecting devices/web cam/speakers, et al. And, of course, everything was originally set up with the cabling nice and neat but over time they must have been having a party and now every cable is commingled with all the others. 2-Since I have no experience in programming, I can offer no suggestions to improve this situation.
Pros: Always There For You, Fast Setup, Simple Controls, Attractive Design, Improved Audio/Video
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought a Roku to add smarts to my not so smart TV. The Roku was as advertised, easy to set up, and does very well adding streaming services to our TV. What is SO disappointing are the poor choices within streaming services. Movies I want to watch will consistently separate me and my money. Most of the "free" content are either old movies I don't want to see or things that no one wants to see. I think its not Roku's fault, but the idea of so much free content, TV or movies, is false advertising. Nothing is free.

just about every show has an additional cost

I bought this about a month ago and I am not at all impressed with it. As far as I can tell just about everything I would like to watch has an additional cost and that was not what I understood this service to be so I have never even got my first show. I therefore consider this a lost cause.

Not what I expected

For streaming Netflix and the like, it will be fine. If you expect to see free movies, regardless of how popular, you will be disappointed. To set through 60 McDonalds commercials, all the same one, during a 2hr 40 min movie is not what I really call free. It makes me want to never see a McDonalds or Chicken Fingers. This is on Crackle and Popcornflix. They are driving you to only paid subscriptions, no different than HBO or Cinemax. It is less than I expected for the Roku3, the best they have.
