I'm so glad that a purchased a Roku and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. I have a Roku 3 and the speed of it combined with the huge library of apps make it my purchase of the year. I would recommend it to anyone. Fantastic product!

Best Deal Around!!

I dearly love ROKU. Satellite and cable have become so horribly expensive now that it was becoming unmanageable. Several friends told me about ROKU, so we took the plunge … and we are so happy with it. Our adult son and daughter also have it on their televisions and love it. It provides programs that are not available on satellite television … and many things you can pause and restart if you need to take a break. The wonderful thing is that you don't have to pay a penny after you have bought the ROKU device (which is very cheap) … unless you want to. I highly recommend ROKU. It is the best thing around for television and you can't beat the cost.

So Cool

I bought this about 7 months ago and took plenty of time to play with it.. I had just gotten cable but I knew that wasn't gonna last long.. They always charge more, or get what your supposed to have all wrong.. It seems taxes were always around $25, and I was just sick of it..
So, since I've already been watching movies on Roku, watching TV shows on Roku, listening to music on Roku, I decided to finally get rid of the cable company and do strictly Roku.. What I can't watch on Roku, I can plug my MAC or my Kindle into my TV, and stream that way..
Here's another tidbit.. Ok,there are approximately 10-20 local stations that everyone gets for free.. To get the BASIC cable at approximately $30-$50 per month, you get those 10-20 channels, about 10 channels of gov't hogwash, another 10-15 foreign channels, another 5-10 religious channels, and maybe another 15 channels of infomercials, weather, tv guide, and QVC type channels..
So really, I got tired of paying for what I don't need, want, nor asked for.. And what it boils down to, is paying for those channels that are free anyway.. If you had an antennae, you would get most of those local channels.. So why pay for it?
So you ask yourself, is the $99 worth it for Roku 3? Yes it is.. I don't have to fork out 30-50$ each month and I watch WAYYY more than cable would have given me.. I have Netflix, Amazon Video, Plex, IHeartRadio, TV, Classics, Children, Family, Music, Videos, Cams, Food, Work Out, Games, and more.. I have over 150 channels and can watch what I want with no charges (except Netflix, and Amazon)
I know Chromecast is out now and it's only $35, and there is another USB type internet TV that is $10 a year.. But, for Chrome, they only have like 10 channels, and of course whatever you want from Google Play.. It does not support Kindle.. Roku has over 1,000 channels and that's not counting all the Private channels that are out there.. Also, I can work my Roku with the remote that came with it, or I can run it through my kindle..
So really, this little box paid for itself months ago.. I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything..

We've bought our Roku, because we were spending too much on On-Demand movies and our Smart Blue-Ray player doesn't work well. The Roku is much better at picking up the WiFi signal. It's great for watching Netflix, Amazon Ibstant Video, etc. I love the IPhone app that allows you to use your phone as a remote control and watch videos recorded with your phone on your TV. I just wish I could watch movies in my UltaViolet movies with the Roku. I think there might be a way, but I'll be damned if I can figure it out.

Brought this a month ago, love the versatility and channel choices. Its just a different way of watching TV ... you get to chose what to watch when you want it. Only area for improvement is getting improved access to live sports channels, watch ESPN app needs a Comcast subscription to watch, no other live access that you would get on normal TV

We recently decided to cut the cable and bought a Roku 3 for our main TV. From in the box to up and running took less than 10 minutes, and most of that was remembering the key to my wireless network. Available content is not a 100% match to cable, but virtually all of our favorites are available (nowhereTV and the PlayOn channels are ones to look up). The remote is great, I use the headphone jack almost daily when my spouse goes to sleep. Overall a great purchase for less than the cost of one month's cable bill before we switched.
