Unit is easily installed and works fine but I cannot hook it up to my surround sound (older Sony system) as it has no direct audio output aside from the HDMI to the TV and TV only has an analog audio out (so I continue to use my Blue Ray player for Netflix). Would be nice to have a digital audio out on the player.
There is very little "free" TV out there most of the ROKU playable providers require a monthly fee. Those that don't show mostly low resolution that is unappealing on a widescreen HDTV. So if you're looking to do away with your cable you will be disappointed.

I have 3 teenage grandkids and a 21 year old in college. I recently retired and moved to the state where they live. Not wanting to be bothered with DirecTv's high rates again, I turned to Roku. My first Roku box was a 2XS. Grandkid 1 took it back to university with her. Bought the Roku 3 for myself. When grandkids 2 through 4 come on the weekend - every weekend - they fight over what to watch on the Roku, so I'm left with a tv with no Roku when they visit. I'm online now shopping for another for MY bedroom, and they're RIGHT HERE telling me to order it for THEM to take home with them, and they will bring it with them on the weekends... No, I'm not happy, Roku! It's all your fault! p.s. on another note, I'm retired (read: poor). Thanks to Roku, until cable/satellite tv becomes free, I won't EVER be a subscriber again. ;D

Missing audio output jacks!!!

Was happy until I tried to hook it up to my receiver.
Pros: Less Buffering, Simple Controls, Fast Setup
Cons: Poor Design, Does Not Improve Audio/Video, No Audio Output Jacks, Lr Audio Out Missing

Wouldn't work on my TV

We have an older TV. The Roku 3 would not work on it. We exchanged it for the Roku 2 XD and it works great! The only inconvenience is when in the middle of a movie it goes to browsing for a few minutes and then returns to where it stopped. Otherwise, we love it!

Roku 3 is less stable than Roku 2HD

I almost exclusively use the Roku to access Amazon video content. I was extremely happy with the Roku 2HD and upgraded to the Roku 3 as soon as it came out. Unfortunately, I continue to have issues with my Roku 3. Even though I have the most up-to-date software, I have to reset the Roku everytime that I use it (usually 1-2 times per week). Whereas the Roku 2HD was always ready to go without complaint, the Roku 3 is glitchy. I usually have to unplug the power cord and plug it back in to get it to function correctly. Also, the HDMI connection in the back of my Roku 3 is loose and the unit has to be carefully placed to ensure that I maintain video/audio connectivity.
Pros: Fast Setup, Simple Controls, Attractive Design
