Sorry piece of equipment

This is the second roku 3 player I've bought. The first one lasted about a year. The second one lasted about 2 months. Just long enough for the player to start fuzzing out and cutting off and on. It's a piece of junk and I have no way to get my money back or a replacement. Unless you want to buy one every 2 or 3 months get far far away from this failing piece of equipment.

IF you buy roku 3 your channels from your other roku box don't transfer over to the new roku 3.. Found this out the hard way.

Don't buy if you have Windows Home Serve

I purchased this item online instead of in a local store. Mistake: Now I learn I must pay for return shipping myself. Reviews online give you the impression that this device works with Windows Home Server via Plex. I've spent two days straight trying to get Plex installed and configured. The channel is a volunteer effort, and users have been asking for support for Windows Home Server for two years without a supported solution. There are plenty of other options on the market to stream your Netflix. Make sure you understand the terms of sale before purchasing online.
Cons: Immature Channels, Dead Channels, No Native Dlna Support

IRATE CUSTOMER IN FLORIDA

IRATE EX CUSTOMER 2 ROKU 3s RETURNED! Coworker talked about Roku. I called ROKU BY PHONE, told customer service what kind of TVs I have and My Internet service is ATT UVERSE. They told me to buy 2 HD cables for $10 each along with the 2 ROKUs one for each TV. I got them in 8 days. I called their tech support to help me with set up. 2 hours on the phone trying again and again but the device would not read my Internet modem. Then, they give me PRIMARY AND SECONDARY DNS numbers and tell to Call ATT and have them change joy DNS numbers. I call ATT . I don't have a tech support plan, so they charge me $50 to speak to ATT TECH SUPPORT in India. Then after 30 more minutes, the guy tells me that my DNS numbers are assigned to my modem and can NEVER be change. 3 hrs in total wasted. Had to send COUNTLESS emails to ROKU begging for a return address. REpackaged devices, paid for return postage plus the cost of ATT service and now I have to wait more than 10 days to get them off my credit card. WHY THE HELL didn't they just tell me it wouldn't work with my system when I called them before placing the order. I live in the city in FL and not some remote place. No clue why it wouldn't work, and they don't know either. WASTE OF MY TIME AND MONEY. ------------------------------------

I buy it one, and is the best more than CablTV and pay less for more. My child and my wife are more happy, with this Roku 3 I removed the cra% CablTV and used what you can truly see.

There's one major problem

Roku is a neat device but I have one major problem with it. I purchased it mostly for its Plex app, to watch my own collection of media content. The Plex app for Roku has a big problem with subtitles -- and I watch a lot of foreign video content that is subtitled. The Plex app for Roku is very picky about what subtitles it will play -- about half of the ones I have tried won't play at all, or quit after a few minutes of playback. I am not sure if this is a Roku or Plex problem, but it is a huge annoyance and makes the Roku much less valuable a device to me. I should point out that other "channels" work fine -- Netflix, Amazon, Prime, no issues that I can detect with subtitled content. I am hopeful that this problem can be solved and I can edit this review to 5 stars, but for now, these subtitle issues are a deal breaker. If you don't watch subtitled content, don't hesitate to buy Roku. If you do, get ready for some major headaches.

I can't seem to get the help needed to set up channels. This is for a disabled person and they just keep giving us the run around. We have no local support and getting help is impossible. We have to use a different computer site which is not working with the product.. Think before you buy since help is not is to find!!!!!!!!

I had high hopes for this device as I've owned a Roku before. However the remote died within a month of using it.
