My TV is about eight years old and is not a "smart " device. I wanted to stream content with the eventual goal of canceling my expensive cable service. I bought the Roku after researching the major brands. I have been using it for a month or so and find it easy to use and fun. I now subscribe to Netflix and plan to get an HD antenna for local channels. If I can pull down news and sports, it's bye bye cable. Though I still need it for Internet access. Hmmmm...

The Roku is easy to use. It accesses plenty of channels and games. I would like to be able to create a Roku payment account that could be used for all channels, programs. Also, I would like to be able to turn the Roku off using the remote. Small devices with constant-on monitors use a lot of energy over the long run. If I'm gone for a few days, or even just overnight, would like the ease of hitting a button and knowing it's completely shut down.

My husband bought this for me for Christmas. I love British TV and wanted to be able to see more shows and all of the different mysteries etc. My husband loves to get on the stations from around the US.
