Great value & fun

I got the Roku to stream You Tube on my TV to supplement my antenna TV viewing options. It works great for this. Although Roku requires no monthly fees, the channels available on the Roku may require a pay per view or monthly fee. The free channels have mostly public domain movies and old TV series. There are a number of pay per view movie channels such as VUDU & Amazon Instant Video. There are streaming services such as Netflix & HULU Plus that require a monthly subscription fee or existing subscription. Some of the channels (ESPN Watch & Showtime Anytime) require a subscription with a TV provider. Dish is suppose to be releasing a service that will provide access to ESPN, HGTV for a monthy fee without a cable TV subscription and is suppose to be available through Roku.

I have both a roku stick and a roku3. They are both great for their ease of use, but the roku3 is worth the price for the increased speed. This thing is FAST.

It doesn't play every kind of video file. If I want to use it to watch a video that's not compatible, I just can't.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are not much on movies or TV, but decided to try a connection to so much content available, yet did not expect to use it much. My Computer Engineer son always have a hard time with gifts for us so we told him to get us a connection. He picked Roku, we are very impressed with how easy it is to use and all the content providers it has. Now we seem to watch movies when in the past we just let the TV run as background sound.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best Electronic Device I've EVER Purchased!!!

My wife and I bought our Roku3 at a big box grocery store about 1 month ago after trying a competitor and hating it. I can promise you, Roku3 is THE EASIEST device to set up you will EVER own!! From the time I took it out of the box, set it up, and started actually using it was less than 15 minutes!!! No exaggeration! It has an amazing assortment and HUGE variety of channels you can pick up, the game / remote control is super! It is WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!! Thank you Roku for designing and selling such a user friendly, fun, electronic tool!
