Pays itself in 4 months. Dumped my TWC DVR abd now use the TWC app on Roku 3. No brainer.

I enjoy my Roku 3, my first one had a fight with lightning and lost but a new power strip with surge protector will keep your roku going well.

It's as advertised

Bought this just about a month ago. The thing works as advertised. I've never used any other streaming devices before and honestly as a tech, I wanted to setup my home theatre system using some old tablet PC's. But the simplicity made it far more accessible for my wife. It's quick (maybe a 3 second load time max for any given app) and it doesn't choke as much as the PS3 network infrastructure that we were using before (for netflix, hulu and so forth). Some application menus are differed if you're used to watching netflix/hulu in other forms but you get used to it. (Some categories are missing from the roku variation and its extremely weird... such as anime for hulu)
As quite a frugal person; I do not regret buying the roku. Saves a lot of head ache in media watching when I just want to sit back.

This was a good choice. The interface is easy to learn and use. Setup was fairly simple. I like the pin function for purchases. The remote works fine and I like the fact that it does not require me to aim and press. The device handles playing seamlessly without skipping.
I also have the Roku app on tablet at home and the interface is works seamlessly with the device.

We bought the system about a month ago. We love the concept and have eliminated "regular" tv in our home.

Great -- once you get past the setup hurdles

We bought a Roku because of the variety of content, and we haven't been disappointed. However, we had some setup problems. We had to buy a new wi-fi router to get a strong enough signal. I would advise anyone with an older router to replace it first if they're going to use wi-fi for their Roku. The Roku setup is tedious and sometimes confusing, so be prepared to spend some time on it. Now that we have it working, my only complaint is that we have to use a TV remote to control the volume, so we need two remotes when we watch something through Roku. The device should have built-in volume control for all programming, not just for gaming. The variety of content is excellent, as I said, and the low monthly fee is real bargain.

I was surprised that I had to purchase a HDMI cable in addition to the player, for the price I would have thought they could have thrown one in. further more was disappointed that some of the channels that are advertised as being free require a subscription to a cable company.
