Something for everyone

Have used it a few weeks and appreciate its wide offering of media venues. Gaming capability is limited, but, as a supplemental feature, it's just fine.

Love the Roku 3!

It is great being able to select what l want to watch when I want to watch it! Roku offers many free channels and the channels that require a subscription the cost is minimal. I love not having to pay rising cable bills and being forced to rent costly cable boxes. I just wish I had bought a Roku sooner!

Still Problematic

Problems immediately, Netflix text superimposed, wrong descriptions, etc. Constant need to reboot. Over a month with tech services. Finally agreed to replace unit, wanted me to pay shipping (no way!). Replacement has same issues just not as frequently. Roku well aware of issue (check google). Expensive hockey puck Long-time customer, now ex-customer
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great when working right

I bought this when it first came out and almost every other day I start to watch something and the audio comes through but I get a light blue screen which reads "HDCP unauthorized. Content disabled". I have to unplug the unit and wait till it reboots to watch it. This is an annoyance. The headphone feature is nice except the right side don't pick up, so had to buy a new set. Maybe I just got a lemon. My son has one and has had no problem at all. I really like the unit except for these two issues.

Great addition to home entertainment!!

I bought this as a companion to my Apple TV and not a replacement, since I have a huge iTunes library. But I am presently surprised at how well the Roku 3 has performed. I actually alternate devices when I am using Netflix, Hulu Plus or Crunchyroll and loose nothing in my experience.

Best Streaming Box Period

I've had two Roku 3's in my home and my whole family loves it. Being an Apple-centric home, I initially waffled between the Apple TV and the Roku, but the Roku just offered so much more. We cancelled cable TV and use Netflix and Amazon Prime along with other free channels and we don't miss cable at all. I've used the lower end Roku's as well, but if you can afford it the Roku 3 is significantly better than the rest. The navigation and load speed is noticeable, and we use the headphone jack in the remote quite a bit with a child around at night. The only thing we don't use is the motion-control and gaming. If they removed the motion-control to save remote battery life and slimmed the control down, it would be perfect!

I bought this for myself as a Christmas present and I love it so much!! I had considered other devices but the remote on this one won me over!! Great Great Great product!
