I cannot get over how easy it is to use  and how many channels they have to to offer. Netflix works amazing with this system. I also have the NBA channel on ROKU and it is PERFECT!! Get rid of your cable or satellite provider and go with ROKU. You will save tons of money just like I am. No commercials and you can watch what you want when you want. Fast forward through parts of the NBA games, go straight to 4th quarter if you want. Thank you ROKU!!!

I used a WD Live for several years and have debated about purchasing the Roku for over a year. My greatest regret is that I didn't do it sooner. It is crisp with few if any hang-ups, it is fast with a beautiful simple interface. I love it. Channel choice is amazing and new channels are developed all the time. It is a huge upgrade for me. The down-side is no streaming ISO files from a local attached hard drive, like the WD Live does. But I found a simple streaming device that connects to an external hard drive for $35.00 that does that. If you are debating, don't, just get the Roku.

The Perfect Media Player

This thing rocks.  The Plex and Netflix app run perfectly and being able to stream audio through a 3.5mm jack is my favorite feature.  I typically watch Netflix in bed while my spouse sleeps and it allows me to pop a set of earbuds in and enjoy the action at full volume instead of just reading subtitles at night.

We get most all of the Roku channels except ESPN, which indicates that we need an internet connection.  The connection is established as proven by the other channels. Go figure. Whassup with this?

And... I just didn't think it was good value for the money.  Very complicated to understand how to find channels and get movies, etc.

The Best Streamer for those who want an open devic

I spent months trying to pick out a streamer and my choice for the Roku 3 was this; it is an open device that allows for 3rd party content.  This beats Apple TV.  The ability to link my Google Music from the cloud (NowhereMusic) shows greatly how flexible the streamer is.  I now use the PLEX channel and Plex Media Server to stream my ripped movies and TV shows.  So, unless your are tied in itunes, get the Roku.  The only thing I would change would be a return of WMV, a true YouTube Channel and native 5.1 AAC to 5.1 PCM over HDMI. (The Roku only supports 2.0 AAC)
