Easy to Install and Easy to Use

You need not be a genius to figure this one out. Also, the device is not much bigger than a deck of cards. The only minor issue is that when using the remote and earbuds, the sound quality is not as good as compared to when I stream movies on my ipad using the same earbuds.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought ROKU at the year's end hoping to have a best alternative than cable-TV but it is not. In my experience I have had these problems: a) Very limited channel selection b) The "Live TV" or "Live SHows" continually get paused and/or interrupted. c) The messagge "This content is not available now" is recurrent. I would definitely NOT reccommend ROKU as a ways to get better TV

Great unit! Not so much with the remote!

Having purchased several R2 XD units for myself and family members, my main purpose for purchasing R3 was to experience the much touted speed improvements. Based on my initial observations (since December 2014), I have noticed an increase in download time for most content! This is great!
However, while the unit is great, the redesign of the remote misses the mark...in my opinion. For starters, moving the "Enter" button from the center of the cursor (or navigation buttons) and placing it above the transport buttons was a bad idea! I often find myself pressing it versus the "Pause/Play" button which I may be intending to press. Also, the removal of the Netflix, Pandora, and Crackle buttons were also unpopular for me.

We received a Roku 1 free when we changed Internet service providers. My husband had no plans on even hooking it up, so I set it up myself, it was really easy. I had it playing when he got home and showed him all the cool shows we could watch and all the other fun stuff. He said he would be willing to not watch our satellite TV and just use the Roku for a week to see how he liked it. After two days he was hooked and we cancelled our satellite TV.
The Roku1 was a little slow for us so we gave the 1 to our son for his room and we went out and bought the Roku3 for the living room. We have had it for a couple of weeks and really enjoy the quality of the streaming and channel selection and all the money we will be saving each month ($97).
