Took it back to the store after 1 hour

I was having trouble with my Xbox 360, so I got rid of that and got a Roku 3 It crashed 3 times in the first hour. I pack it up and took it back to the store. Then I went and bought a Smart Tv. love it so easy to use, no problems at all.
Cons: Crashed 3 Times In 1 Hour, Poor Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

does not work properly

When I first received the Roku I set it up without any problems. I selected a few channels from the Channel Store and decided to come back later and add some more. Now each time I try to access the channel store it says I do not have an internet connection. I do the set up process again and it still does not work. I can go to Netflix and a few other channels that I originally set up and watch movies, etc. so I know my connection is working. This is very frustrating to not be able to access the Channel Store and continue to set up other channels.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Simple Solution

I bought 2 Roku 3 about a month ago. My family and I are greatly in love with these devices. being a previous apple tv owner, 3 in all, this one device simply met all of our needs. We run plex media server exclusively in our house. and the Roku handles Plex like a true champion. On the bonus side, the Roku has brought a few optional kids channels for my 2 sons. And as if that wasn't great enough, they even included Angry Birds Space for our enjoyment. I would recommend this device for anyone that uses Plex, and or enjoys light gaming from a powerful little device.

It is so-so. It is not anything near live tv

I thought this would have more live / current TV shows or series. It has very little current stuff. If and I mean IF you subscribe to pay things like Hulu Plus then you get more current stuff a day or 2 after it ran the first time on TV.
A lot of the channels ROKU says are available are misleading. Many of then require subscriptions and may only let you view teaser trailers and not the full movie or show without you paying. A lot have a small warning at the start...To see full movie commercial free 99 cents.......or something. Foolosh
I do like it for the ability to find older movies like Abbot & Costello, and tv series like My Favorite Martian episodes (and other similar things). These run with little commercials in them.
Would I recommend this to someone who really is hooked on TV but wants to cut the cable bill or satellite bill?.....NO.....It is NOTHING like you would want.

Easy to Use

I have been using this device for about one month. Pros; easy to use, simple remote controller, good product build quality, good sound quality through the earbuds. Con; ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. I couldn't figure out how to get it to work, first computer nerd I hired couldn't figure it out either. 2 months after purchase I finally found a computer tech that had learned how to install one of these devices. I'm happy now but there was more than a few moments when I contemplated sending the shattered remains back to Roku with clear instructions on just where they might install it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great improvement to my home entertainment setup

I've been running this Roku 3 for a few weeks and like it a lot. The primary reason for buying it was to be able to stream my Amazon Prime movies that none of my other equipment could do. The added benefit is my Netflix streaming is far superior to that of my DVD player and TIVO unit, both of which take forever to load up when I select Netflix. With the Roku, there is no noticeable delay and the video quality is better as well.
My only disappointment is the audio set up. I have a sound bar with wireless subwoofer system that provides near-5.1 audio, but I can't select 5.1 in the Roku audio setup, even though audio is through the HDMI cable connection. I have to select "Stereo" or have no sound at all. Not a deal breaker, but merely an annoyance.

exactly what i been looking for i have basic cable and this thing makes me feel like i have premium service. so many things to watch easy set up and when my girl is asleep i have my headphones its awesome and when my friends bring there kids it has games im in love the best part is i have lots of movies on my computer that i loaded to an sd card plugged it in and now i can watch it on the big screen once they get the cw channel and abc channel it will be the perfect device
