Been thinking of a streaming box for a long time. I read the reviews on the various options and decided on a Roku 3. Good choice. Easy set-up and it works exactly as I had hoped. My only negative is that I wish it had an illuminated remote. After a while, I became accustomed to the location of the buttons, but it would be a great improvement if the remote was illuminated. (I am unable to get the free trial for Hulu Plus as it keeps telling me I'm using an incorrect e-mail address.)

Bought it a few weeks ago and I'm loving it. Canceling cable right after the Super Bowl. They do need to stream more things live but I know that's coming. Roku has a lot to offer already.

Bad interface: content ok

Roku interface is clunky and not intuitive. There is no consistent keyboard input between apps. There are more options for content than on my Apple TV but most content requires a subscription (either to a cable TV provider or in-app).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Room for improvement

I purchased this as I know it offers or options then my Apple TV. I wish signing up for all the channels were a lot easier. Perhaps just having one account that all channels can sign into will help. Also, there should be a standard keyboard layout. Netflix pales in comparison to AppleTV. It does not show any genres. Searching can take a while.

Roku 3: Best Thing Since Sliced Bread

I just had some sliced bread with my dinner. The next best thing to that has been Roku 3 and the great many channels I am still exploring.
If I can have a wish list, something that will make the Roku 3 better than sliced bread is the ability hide some of my private channels and games from the main menu. Sometimes when I have company over I would like only a select few to be present when I toggle to my HDMI.
Perhaps this can be achieved in a software update?!

Very easy to set up for the JW Broadcasting app.

We got this to stream the JW Broadcasting. Setting the Roku up was very easy. Finding the correct app to download was also easy. I highly recommend the Roku for watching.

Easy to set up and easy to use. We got rid of cable and now only use the Roku. Only downside, I wish the beta mirroring worked with my Apple iPad.
