Best VALUE, Highest SPEED, Outstanding QUALITY

I have been a Roku customer since the Roku 2 came online. This NEW Roku 3 is VASTLY SUPERIOR to the #2!!
I would say the Roku 3 gives the greatest value of any similar device! It has a simple highly intuitive interface. It is exceptionally easy to use and the improved features of the remote control are most surprising! Especially valuable is the ear bud jack that mutes the TV when family members are trying to sleep!
Hands down the download speeds are the fastest I've ever experienced for this kind of device including OTHER manufacturers.
Overall the device itself, and the hand control are manufactured to outstanding quality control standards, and despite the dog's appetite and an infant that has developed a powerful affinity to chew and droll all over the control, it functions perfectly!!
The Quality, Speed of Operation, and VALUE are truly exceptional and this doesn't begin to take into account the powerful customer service department in the rare event some assistance is needed!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Better than having a smart TV

I have two TV's. One is a smart TV and on isn't. I like the features and channels on the Roku 3 better than what I can get on the smart TV.

Simple to use

I have had no issues using this player. Really enjoy it. Only complaint is the remote is tedious to use. I may download the app for my phone like others have suggested.

Excellent alternative to cable and satellite

We purchased a Roku 3 to test out in our bedroom. There is a lot of free programming, but the goal was to see if we could replace Comcast Cable altogether. We focused in on Hulu & Netflix and next spring HBO is supposed to offer a direct subscription service. Between those three services we will finally ditch cable and satellite and purchase more Roku players for the other TV's in the house.

Love global Search; hate that it kills antenna

I bought the Roku 3 primarily for adding streaming, particularly Amazon Prime, to our bedroom. We have an Apple TV in the living room and love that for its features and Apple ecosystem linkage - but I was intrigued to try the Roku because of its ability to search across all streaming sources - vs Apple's tedious search-every-channel interface. Love the global search of the Roku 3... and the headphone jack in the remote.
Absolutely HATE that the Roku has bad shielding so that if it is plugged in, we cannot receive any TV over our antenna. (We receive all local HD channels by antenna - and now use a Tivo Roamio OTA to record them. Love the Roamio OTA.)
We are as electronic a house as you can get... and no other device in the home or on our network impacts our antenna reception like the Roku. If not for this epic failure - requiring that we unplug the Roku if we want to watch a live show... or expect the Tivo will be recording one - I'd give the Roku 3 a full 5 stars.
