Cord-cutting made easy.

I recieved a Roku 3 for my birthday a year and a half ago. We do not have cable, nor do we have a satellite, and we are in a relatively remote part of the country so we (my wife, and our two daughters ages 3 and 1 month) have a very limited amount of over-the-air channels available.
My favorite thing about the Roku is that, because there is less live tv available with it (there is live streaming available, some channels requiring a subscription like ESPN, History, A&E; some others subscription not necessary), I find that the tv is off more often, we only turn it on when we want to watch something, instead of just leaving it on in the background. With this, we have found that we don't miss all of the shows that we once would watch just because it's on, which affords us more time for other things. But still, when we do want to watch something, there is plenty to choose from.
One of the great apps available is Plex, I can run my Plex media server in my house containing my collection of music, movies, and photos, then access them from any tv to which I have a Roku connected.
I recently bought a second Roku 3 for a different television in the house.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Heard about ROKU from my eldest son who has had one for several years. ROKU significantly increase tv content

Great Small Entertainment Box!

Bought this on Black Friday because it was on sale and because I was curious to see what it could do. I used to stream media via PS4 and hooking up my laptop by HDMI cable which were both nice but I wanted something more convenient.
So far I love how easy it was to setup, easy to use, small size, the quality and quantity of the apps. I haven't used it for gaming but it's cool to know that it can handle games. I liked it so much that I bought one for my dad as a Christmas gift.
