A GREAT RECOMMENDATION

Our family has been a "movie" family from the beginning. We started with TV, added internet choices and finally our own movie server a few years ago. My son recommended we take a look at Roku. It was amazing. Now we have a convenient way to select and learn about our movies as well as stream them all over the house. We now have two Roku. Our son bought us a second one for Christmas. Thanks Roku!

It's OK

I bought this to view one particular station and it plays/ streams very well. The only problem I see is it promises 1000's of channels but you don't know what they are if you don't know the names. I wish there was a way to scroll through a list instead of typing in a letter /letters and seeing what comes up. Then there is not enough information to know if the station is free or pay

Love my Roku!

As a previous Apple TV user, I was timid to try the Roku. After I received it as a gift, I set it up and started trying out all of the features. I love my Roku, especially the following features:
- The remote is an actual remote with buttons! I hated the functionality of the Apple TV remote.
- You can search for a show on all of your channels/apps! On the Apple TV I had to click on Netflix and search a show and if they didn't have it I would then exit the app and search on Hulu Plus, and then again with HBO GO. On the Roku there's a search function on the main screen that let's you search for a show on all of your apps! Favorite feature :)
- There are a ton of free (good) channels. My boyfriend especially loves the NASA channel.

Good streaming from internet; problematic on mv4

Good for streaming Netflix.
Streaming mv4 files has problems; playback occasionlly fast forwards the movie lije it list sync. Playing the mv4 using vlc player has no problems. Still trying to determine the problem using the roku3
