Love it !!

I bought the Roku just before Christmas, based on several features I had heard about. The one that interested me the most was the ability to use earbuds on the remote and silence the sound to anyone else in the room. I wash TV often in bed and my wife always complains it keeps her awake. With Roku and the earbuds they provided my wife is no longer kept awake and I can watch and listen to late night TV. Roku is very fast and I find it user friendly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Didn't work

Bought a Roku 1 in August 2014 and had it shipped to my sister in a different state who didn't yet have internet and then never did get it. She visited me in early December and brought the Roku 1 package along. So I opened it and installed it in the guest bedroom for her to use. It worked fine for about two days. Then it constantly kept losing its reception. Tried it on two different TVs in different rooms with various RCA cables with the same result. After three weeks of constantly having to restart it, it stopped working altogether. I' also had a Roku 2, and it worked fine throughout this ordeal, using the same connections and TVs with which the Roku 1 would not work. Tried to troubleshoot it by phone with a Roku tech, and they agreed it was defective. Now I've had to ship it back to Roku (AT MY EXPENSE) for a replacement, and am currently waiting for the replacement to arrive. This was a big disappointment. Good thing my sister didn't try to use it at her place; it would have been a nightmare for us trying to figure out what was wrong without me there.

I enjoyed this product very much for the frst year. Then the remote control kept unpairing. Now I am forced to use Roku control app through my phone - only available with wifi. On the fence about recomending with so many other, perhaps better, products out there.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This roku is fast, the remote works while pointed in any direction. Such an improvement over the first Romulus I owned.

Fantastic Roku

We previously had another Internet tv device that will remain unnamed and Roku is much better. Ease of use and the apps to use the iPad or iPhone as a remote are great. Would recommend to anyone!

Good but not perfect

The player is a little touchy with signal, even with 50 MBPS download and a wired connection I sometimes have to re-seat the LAN cable cause the speech is audibly slow.Also the remote that green light that blinks all the time eats up battery life.I guess it's for showing the remote is linked to the main base my 2 AA duracell batteries only worked for 1 month before they needed to be changed.
