How did I live without Roku for so long?

I had been contemplating buying Roku 3 for some time and finally got fed up enough with the same old stuff on Cable that I broke down and splurged. I am so happy I did! I've learned what binge watching means! I'm almost 73 and managed to set this up on my TV on my own!

I really like the availability of channels on the Roku, and its interface is quite easy to use, especially the availability of an app for iOS and Android. There are only a few things missing to make this box perfect for me:
1. I still have an AppleTV, because I can send music and video from any of my iOS devices to the AppleTV, something I can't do on the Roku.
2. I still want and need a full web browser that can go to any site where there is an embedded video and play it. Not just the channels accepted by Roku.
3. My house is powered by solar panels. The last thing I need is a device that does vampire draining of power because it can't be turned off. The AppleTV drops into standby mode and draws practically no current, or I can turn it completely off, but the Roku goes on sucking my energy for twenty hours or more a day when I'm not using it.

Persistent hdcp unauthorized access content error

Have a roku LT that we love so I bought the roku 3 for downstairs tv. I've changed the HDMI cable but continued to get the hdcp unauthorized access content disabled error code. It will work again after I unplug and plug the HDMI & power cables back. Very irritating !

I bought this a month or so ago. It was easy to connect and use. I don't have the fastest internet but it still works pretty well. It only refreshes 1 or 2 times during a broadcast. I can't wait until faster internet is available in my area but for now at least I am able to view the things I choose.

Early Christmas present to myself and now I see what all the fuss is about! Great selection of content, very easy to set up - and the user interface is easy to navigate too. The Roku Recommends channel became available shortly after I activated it and it was wonderful to find. My former streaming player (to remain nameless) kept dropping the wireless connection, even though it was near the source. All-around: great device and great user experience!
