I bought my unit about six months ago but only set it up about a month ago. It's terrific! I had a little trouble, but your customer service folks talked me through it, and it works like a charm! Thanks.

Awesome product that will save you $

We bought our Roku less than a month ago. My husband was kind of leery of the idea of streaming our shows so we could "cut the cable cord". However he is now hooked on streaming movies, TV, etc. He also loves working on building our digital movie library! We have already recommended to friends and family that they get a Roku too.

my roku 3 stopped working and I had to return it, it started showing the bouncing roku and stayed there without any response

Best in Streaming for my Household

Overall, the Roku 3 is an excellent choice for streaming video from a large number of the content providers. My household only uses a small number of the apps available but the reason we ditched our Smart Tv and Smart Blu-Ray is that a single unit didn't provide what was important to us. The Roku 3 feels much faster in navigating through options and never buffers content when using a fast network connection. Still, it is missing a growing number of the useful apps now available on ChromeCast, an Apple tablet or Android Tablet. Specifically, MaxGo, Starz Play, Google Play Music or Encore Play are missing but I am sure that it's only a matter of time before they appear. It is also short of a search feature to find a channel quickly without having to manually hunt through the list. Finally, not necessarily a Roku shortfall (I just don't know what) but several of the channel apps have inferior sound delivery when compared to others, (I.e., Google Play only plays the movies I selected in 2-channel stereo whereas ChromeCast plays the same movie in surround 5.1.

I recently cut my cord with the cable company and decided to use the Roku 3 as my "portal" with internet content. I have Netflix and Amazon Instant Video and have used them for a long time. I enjoy that the Roku gives you access to cable news segments and such. I also think it's a very good thing that the Roku is constantly looking to automatically update settings and add content without user action. We listened to Pandora radio during the holidays through the Roku. I also find the remote control app on my iPhone to work seamlessly with the Roku, which enables me to essentially listen to my iTunes library through my sound system without having to buy another mode of connecting. Overall a very good product.

Works well other then that, besides the fact it seems the icons for what ever you want to watch loads slow
