I'm new to roku, and so far love it. I also use an apple tv, but I find the Roku to be more user friendly (believe it or not!) and the movie reviews are very helpful.

I wish I had bought a Roku sooner

My sister bought a Roku and I loved the program's she was able to watch on her television. I am a huge fan of PBS and British television, now I can watch those shows whenever I choose. I love it. It is simple to install, I was able to do it myself.

Awesome Device

My family and I decided to "cot the cord" in July of this year. I had to figure out some other way to bring media to our TVs, and the Roku has been my go-to device. The Chromecast is kinda cool, but the lack of remote is a deal-killer for a whole-home solution (don't wanna look for a phone or tablet every time I wanna watch a movie or TV). The Roku's have been a great cable box replacement (combined with Media Browser, Netflix, and Amazon).
I can ONLY recommend the Roku 3, as the other devices are slow and lack some basic features (like profile switching on Netflix).

Very logical straightforward system

Works like a charm after upgrading cablemodem to Zoom 5363 modem router. The combination used with comcast is totally trouble free.

I recently purchased the Roku 3 and I'm glad I did. I was tired of paying for 200 channels per month and only enjoying a half dozen of them. With the Roku you won't get a monthly bill. You buy it once and that's it. What you do get is access to a great variety of movies and other programs from over 1500 channels, and you get to decide what to watch and when. And, a lot of the channels are FREE!! The Roku is very easy to setup (I was streaming my first movie in under 10 minutes), and it's no-nonsense remote makes it very easy to use. I love the headset jack on the Roku 3 remote. Simply plug in your headset, or the ear buds that come with it, and the TV volume is automatically muted so you can enjoy your show without disturbing others. I have my Roku 3 directly connected to the internet via an ethernet cable and I have not had a single streaming problem. Programs load very quickly and the picture and sound is incredible. I would highly recommend the Roku 3 to anyone.

I got my Roku3 xmas 2013. It works as described.you have access to all the subscriptions you would ever care to purchase. Easy to operate and the remote is easy to understand. After having it for one year I am happy with my choice of my purchase.
