This is a great little device its fast and easy to use. I use it pretty much everyday I'm home I like watching movies on Netflix, amazon, etc. Also good for music with smartphone app.
Pros: Compact, Fast, Video selection, Great value, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use, Easy to set up, Reliability, Better Than My Smart Tvs, High quality picture
Cons: No Internet Browser

Roku 3 / remote issues

I upgraded from Roku2 to Roku3 specifically for the ear buds ($100+ !!!), but it is unusable because I have to keep reseating the batteries in the remote because it keeps failing. I returned one unit, but problem remains. Stopped using ear buds, but problem remains. Maybe its because I fast-ward a lot, but it is VERY ANNOYING to have to keep reseating the batteries. Remote needs mute button.
Pros: Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Improved Audio/Video

Because this product will not work with a keyboard, I cannot give it five stars. The black remote without any kind of back light is idiotic. When will the designers of media products realize that these devices are used in low light conditions.

One of the best IPTV streamers due to content but lacks key features like: NO YOUTUBE NO FLASH SUPPORTED WEB BROWSER GOOD PRIVATE CHANNELS REMOVED POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE Good device to use in combination with a GoogleTV or Android TV device.
Pros: Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Has More On-line Content, Attractive Design
Cons: Private Channels Removed, No browser, Limited Video Format, No youtube

I just bought the ROKU 3 and find the manual doesn't match the website. Provide the information that gives the user an understanding of the product, without spending hours waiting for a online chat or telephone call.

Great Idea, But HDMI Handshake problems

My HDMI connection is frequently bad, whenever the television is turned off and then back on I get an unlicensed content pink message flashing every three seconds. the only way i have been able to solve the issue is by unplugging and re-plugging the HDMI cable back into the Roku3 box until it reestablishes the proper handshake/ connection. It is a super annoying problem. i have purchased two new HDMI cables, same problem. no problem with my friends Roku2 so i don't think it is my screen/ TV. It is such an issue that i would not reccomend this product to a friend and had it not been a gift i would return the Roku3 and explore competitive options

Cons: Poor Design, Hdmi Connection Issues, Difficult setup

It is clear that I did not do enough research before purchasing this product. I thought about buying a smart tv but after reading the reviews decided to get a Roku 3. I really enjoy streaming video online, but wanted the experience on my big screen tv. What I found out is the Roku 3 is very limited of what you can get online. Much of what is available is blocked to Roku 3 subcribers. Do you like sports? Forget it. Do you like you tube? Forget it. Most of the free tv, well you have to watch commercials and it usually is the same commercial every five minutes which becomes torture. Of course they ask you if you would like to pay extra to watch commercial free.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great concept but resets a lot!

I bought this a few weeks ago and so I could watch movies. Great picture, great sound! The major problem is that it freezes for a minute then resets. It will do it every hour and you have to catch up where you left off on the movie you were watching. I wasted my $100.
