sure beats paying a monthly cable for a spare room

I needed TV in a spare room and decided on Roku. The setup takes a while, but it's working pretty good. Sure wish the remote lite up so you could manuever better in the dark.

The Only Way to Go

This is my second Roku 3. This is the only way to go if you want streaming media. T he Roku is reliable and it offers access to many online streaming channels. The unit is compact and has WIFI and Ethernet hookups.

Very fast, very smooth. Offers everything my wife and I want plus more. Only thing I wish is you could adjust tv volume with remote with out headset plugged in.

PLEX is a critical component to this

With PLEX, this is a 5. If I could have given 4.5 I would have only because closed captioning doesn't work very consistently on some shows but I'm really not sure if that's Roku's fault or the individual channels' faults. We no longer have cable of any kind - how absolutely liberating!! Now, we have had Roku 3 for less than a month so we haven't had enough experience to compare to our average monthly cable bill. We will update once we are able to do this!

Love my Roku

I am very pleased with my Roku.. I enjoy all the free shows and you will too... Easy to set up.. AS for as Roku.. just plug in and run.. but you may have to change your television settings.. That was my only delay, but all good to go.. Buy it, worth it.

The Roku has many good things: huge content, easy to use interface, easy setup. I found it disappointing how unreliable it is when playing Amazon video. More often than not, it stops streaming and says something "check Internet", but if I go to the Amazon app in my Vizio, it is working OK. So I would recommend it with caveats.
