Its ok. Have had to unplug and star several times. Seems like software gets hung up. It really needs and internet browser with a keyboard badly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

At 73 years old I'm not comfortable dealing with new technology. I had been thinking about Roku for a while before I tried it. I was up and running within 30 minutes. Any questions I did have were all answered on the website. I find I am spending more time on Roku that on my rather expensive DirecTV subscription. I intend to suspend all of my premium channels from direct by the end of the month.

Simply the Best

This is my second Roku 3, and simply put, nothing else comes close .I've got two Samsung 2014 HDTV'S and two Samsung Blu Ray players, all with internet capabilities. But I can only totally depend on Roku for a few reasons:
* Roku streams faster with better quality
* Has the best App selection
* Ease of operation
* With proper internet speed Roku never buffers or loses connection

We bought our Roku in order to easily view JW Broadcasting on tv.jw.org. The Roku has made watching so easy. It has even made it easier to watch Netflix because the signal is stronger than it was before. Very user friendly as well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought to replace a 'smart' LG blue ray play that kept locking up when I was trying to view Netflix.
The Roku hardware is excellent, no drop outs or lock ups with very good video quality, this is with the existing wireless setup that gave my LG blue ray player fits.

The biggest con was that I disliked being forced into giving a credit card number when setting up the device. That could have easily been done at a later date, if I decided I wanted to buy a service. I already had Netflix and Hulu accounts set up, there was no reason the require the credit card number.
The second con is that the Roku will not handle Skype, which is a real limitation for me and one of the reasons I bought the device. I didn't read the Amazon description close enough and only assumed that it would work for Skype.

Bought our Roku 3 a couple months ago and had no issues thus far. It streams netflix very fast as well as movie rentals. Plan on buying a second for another room!!!!

I am really happy to say goodbye to my communications provider. And, there is a lot to watch using ROKU, but there are a few connectivity problems. I have called customer service twice. Both times they informed me that I would need to change hmdi outlets when I received the "unauthorized" message. Well, that turns out to be something I need to do everyday and sometimes more often.
I would recommend this to a friend!
