Best gizmo ever

I have liked Roku for a long time but the Roku 3 is a great model highly recommend it. tell the big cable companies to keep all the channels you dont ever watch and just get what you want.

It has SOME free stuff on it and it's easy to hook up. I got it for the main TV but will be moving it to the bedroom tv. It ok but not a big sub for your cable TV . I might dump the cable in the future but right now it's just an add on

We already have an apple TV for our second TV but decided to try the ROKU 3 for our main TV when we decided to ditch cable TV. Its easy to set up and does what it says it will. The remote is simple but more functional than our apple tv, onscreen interface is good and the computer interface is great for setting up and adjusting your account. I love the earphone feature in the remote, sometimes I hook it up to a sound bar and sometimes to headphones. With the headphones option I can watch TV when the room is noisy or not disturb others sleeping nearby late night or early morning. We don't miss anything and the investment has a one month payback after ditching cable.

Works well; available content lacking

I have had my Roku 3 for about 6 weeks. While it works well with Netflix and Hulu Plus, worthwhile content drops off quickly after that. I have a computer hooked up to my family room TV, so I can get all the same content that way but where the Roku comes in handy is being able to get that content in the bedroom without having to buy another computer. Plus using Plex, I can get the movies I have burned to the computer without having to have a DVD player in other rooms as well. Plex works very well, especially if you use the "Direct Play" option; MKV files need to use the transcoder option but that causes buffering every few minutes. Overall, the Roku 3 itself is a great device and for most of what I'm using it for it works very well. If it had a web browser it would be perfect; then the lack of content would be less of an issue as you could watch streaming video, which is something none of the current Apps including PlayOn don't seem to be able to do. Oh, the remote is awesome and using it as pseudo personal music player for Pandora is great!

My Roku 3 replaced an XBox and the difference is incredible. It's faster, easier to use, with no system upgrades or failures. I LOVE ROKU 3.
