Great little box

I bought several roku 3's and I cut the cable. Now I watch the channels and movies I want, not what cable company tells me too. Pair it with Simple TV and the world is mine. I love it!!!!

we bought a roku for an okder smart tv we have in our guest bedroom. we love it. i find myself in the guest room, using the roku, bc it is so fast and reliable compared to our expensive smart tv in the living room. coincidentally, we have had a few friends and family in the market for a new tv. we told them to save some money by buying a non-smart tv, and a roku, instead of just a smart tv.
roku is fast, and the apps on it never fail. my two favorite things:
you can search for shows or movies across all apps at once. put in "sesame street" and it'll list the apps in your list that have it. then you just click on over to watch.
the other thing? the remote comes with headphones, which is really nice if you have a light-sleeping, nearby toddler. great move on that!
overall, recommend! inexpensive, and works like a charm.

easy setup, excellent video quality, lots of apps, simple navigation. innovative headphones on wifi remote feature. Awaiting to use for Netflix Australia next year.

Outstanding Streaming Experience

I purchased the Roku 3 despite having a Samsung Smart TV for streaming Netflix, because there were some specific apps/channels my TV didn't support. I have been extremely pleased with the purchase and have recommended it to all my friends and family - my 73 year old mother purchased one and and I was able to talk her through the set up over the phone. The streaming experience is much more stable than my TV, and the app experience for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime, and others is great. My only regret is not purchasing it sooner.

Sold my Apple TV for this

This has it all over Apple TV. I had (2) Apple TV2s. I bought a Roku 3 because we already had an Amazon Prime account and wanted to take advantage of the "free" content. I saw a picture improvement immediately. I thought it was a result of going from 720 to 1080. But a couple of days later I was going through the settings and realized the default setting was 720. It was just a better looking picture than the Apple2 at the same resolution. It is much faster and I haven't had any dropped streams. Apple TV had at least weekly dropped streams. Plus, it would drop the whole channel requiring me to enter log in info again. I still get access to all my iTunes videos through Plex. But now I get a ton of additional channels. Check out all the hidden channels available. The menu layout is so much better. There is actually a Home button on the remote. I guess Apple thinks it would be too confusing for their customers to have a back button and a home button. The best part is that I sold my used Apple TV2 for twice as much as the Roku3. Maybe Apple is right about their loyal customers.

one stop shop for streaming

I bought the box about three months ago and was impressed from the get go. I was able to access my existing subscriptions like hulu, Pandora, Netflix and Amazon prime, and still had access to a wealth of other channels. Connectivity was easy via the wireless adapter and I was able to play back movies from my sub storage device. I was and am very impressed.
