The system has poor connectivity with my home wi-fi running at 15 Mbps download speed. When watching Netflex, the movie is interrupted constanty. When I first installed it, it worked perfectly. I have no probems running Netfex on my tablet. Also, the contracls keep freezing.
Pros: Fast Setup, Attractive Design, Simple Controls
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My wife and I were tired of the large satellite bill and the frustration of having 70+ channels and there STILL being NOTHING on! We are saving money and are now able to watch pretty much what we want, when we want to! The kids love it as well, they can find their shows and watch them whenever they like. We use an HD antenna for our local stations and it works great. We love our Roku!
Pros: Fast Setup, Attractive Design, Simple Controls
I would recommend this to a friend!

Sooo disappointed. We wanted an alternative to basic cable. Unless you pay for services like Netflix, it is basically short (2-20 minute) clips of programs, nothing live, no news, etc. We wouldn't even be able to watch network shows (e.g., Once Upon a Time) unless we paid monthly for Netlix. NOT an alternative to getting basic cable (we pay $17 a month for basic cable). I figured, pay a one-time fee of $99+ for the Roku and we'll get lots of free programs. That's only true if you want short clips or you're willing to pay $8 or more for Netflix or Hulu. We went back to basic cable.
Cons: Few Full-length Programs, No live channels
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

To enable the new remote, the Roku 3 creates a wifi hotspot which takes up a channel and interferes with your network. There is no way to change the channel or disable this functionality. What WERE the engineers thinking. Don't waste your money on this model, get the XDS
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup
Cons: Hotspot Is A Huge Problem, Does Not Improve Audio/Video
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this to watch tv. Online, but it would not play the major networks like abc, cbs , nbc unless I would sign up for some pay as you go like netflix. I don't have any pay as you go so this does not work out for me. I ended up just unpluging it and I don't use it at all.
Pros: Simple Controls
Cons: Does Not Improve Audio/Video
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We received this as a gift. It takes some getting use to as far as what button does what. The biggest problem we have with it is that it interferes with some of our regular television stations. We have to unplug the HDMI cable from the Roku and then they come in just fine.
