Awesome streaming device and media player!

I have a WDTV Live Streaming which has been a great work horse. However, its starting to show its age so I thought I'd look around to see what was out there. I spent a lot of time researching media players and streaming devices and finally settled on the Roku 3. After 3 months of use I have to say I am delighted with my choice. Its really easy to use, has some great apps, and I love the remote with headphone socket.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Absolutely love the unit. It's user friendly. My only con with it is the battery life on the remote. I will be buying a Roku 2 remote because I do not use the game aspect and I'm hoping that will extend thr battery life.

Sad that it took me so long to find out about the Roku but glad I did. We use the Roku to access regular programming and movies. It was so easy to set up and use. We love it!

Easy Peasy...

... we decided to cut the CABLE and took a risk without telling our teenage kids. We got three Roku 2's [we have older tvees] hooked them up and when the kids came home, they grabbed the remote and never blinked. We've been nothing but pleased with the fastness of the systems and the freedom it gives us to watch what and WHEN we want. Most of the shows we watch are either Free or very low priced subscription channels. Now our kids can NEVER say: "there's nothing on to watch"! Thank you, Roku!!

Wonderful Product

We ditched cable about 4 months ago and have been using a combo of an HD Antenna & streaming services through a PS3. Although the PS3 offered Apps for the majority of the services I wanted (including Netflix, Hulu Plus, & Amazon Instant,) it didn't always seem to work the way I expected. Slow load times, sometimes unable to sign in, interruptions during streaming, etc. This was especially true with Amazon Instant. I thought it was my WiFi, but after running some tests with other products, it seemed fine. So I decided to purchase a streaming media player and after researching several, I settled on the Roku 3. I've been extremely happy with this decision. Not only am I receiving additional channels that weren't available on the PS3, but I'm not experiencing any of the issues I had before. I've only had the Roku for about a month, so I'm still exploring the many options. But I can definitely say I recommend the Roku 3 to anyone who is considering cutting cable.
