Short and simple: great product

The simple fact that i do not have to pay the satellite company for 200 channels when my entire family only watches 5-10 channels makes this awesome product. It only does not get 5 star because it is missing a good amount of shows that should be on there, witch i do beleive will come later and i do beleive this types of devices will relace satellite and cable companies

I bought this about a month ago. I do like the device. Thankfully it gives the ability to choose which channels you want to watch. There are many free channels, with much diversity.

I Can't Believe It's Not Cable!!!!

Remember that V8 commercial years back? Well, that's how I felt when I purchased the Roku Stick. I bought the Roku box for my Mom in 2012 and kept saying I would purchase one for myself. I told my sister and nephew about it and they went right out and bought one. Me? I've had the stick for about six weeks and cannot believe it took me this long. This has completely changed my need for compatible gadgets and electronics. I get ALL of my viewing needs with Roku (Amazon Prime, Netflix, YouTube, Hulu Plus, Crackle and many many more assorted entertainment channels).
I would recommend this to a friend!

very poor hardwired LAN connectivity

This unit performs adequately when connected via WIFI but extremely poorly over a Cat5 cable. Definitely not worth the incremental cost for that option.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great player with cool features that i like and has what i want in a player, the only thing that is missing is a web surfer otherwise this is the best stream smart box i have bought and is so worth it.

Being new to this type of thing the product doesn't give much in the way of how to use the product effectively to users with little to no experience with these products. I purchased this product from advice from a neighbor and was looking to reduce cost of cable.
