If you subscribe to Netflix, HBO Go, Amazon Prime or even just watch a lot of YouTube, then this is well worth the money. Great quality, easy installation and we'll worth the money. Also, many may not know, as I didn't, but there are several cable channels available on Roku in which you can view their shows commercial free that come with this product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love this for my bedroom at home and for travel. I visit out of town family and friends frequently. All I need is a TV with an HDMI port and I can watch all my favorite TV shows, movies and more...even if cable/satellite is not available. Set up is easy...and I am NOT an electronic guru.

I was extremely happy to find that TV shows recorded to my Mac via eyeTV are accessible via Roku without conversion. This was undocumented and I am so glad I discovered it before I converted 271 episodes of Perry Mason from the 1950's. Great product. Could improve the documentation because I am wondering how many other goodies are "hidden" to me at this point.

This player is great for streaming Netflix, Hulu and other internet based streaming options. I however love the use of this device and the channel PLEX, it allows me to network with my computer to play media I have stored on my home PC, very useful indeed.

frustrating system

We tried uninstalling and reinstalling some programs (netflix) to improve streaming. Some nights it just won't get past the dread 25% even tho same programs run fine on other devices. Also rebooted roku as suggested. All in all not a reliable system.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great options but freezes frequently

The resolution and speed is great but it tends to freeze periodically and not respond. I have to unplug it and plug it back in to function properly again. It's a shame you can't watch CBS shows on it.
