I love having the ability to watch on demand programming on my large TV rather than a small tablet.

Our whole marketing system should be modeled after this, nothing forced down your throat. Hope this blazes the trail for all media outlets. This is real choice; Go ROKU

Amazing Product

I use it mainly to play mp4HD videos from a thumb flash drive, (128 GB, USB 3).
The quality of the picure on my old Sharp 52" Aquos is truly outstanding using the Rocu! I have real fancy Video card in this computer and A Dell 30" monitor and fancy software, (Power DVD), but the Rocu beats the picture on this cmptr "Hands DOWN"!!! must be an amazing mp4 decoder in the Rocu.
I use the Rocu mostly to play my own videos as opposed to watching some of the programs available on the Rocu, but there are plenty to choose from, especially considering the Rocu does UTube and Vimeo.

I have had Roku's for at least 5 years and purchased some for friends and family. I have been extremely happy with the 2 different generations of Roku. One of the services that I loved was MOG, a really great Music streaming service that was sold ans subsequently closed. As I love the Music services i needed t replace MOG and the best alternative I found was Spotify, the caveat is that Spotify is only compatible with Roku 3. So I went and got a 3. The 3 is so much faster with improved video and sound quality. Please note that I did not have an issue before, the 3 is just so much better. I love Roku!!

flaky digital audio output

Bought it. Set it up. Worked well enough. But started having digital audio output problems. Google search revealed that this is a common problem with roku. Can work around with HDMI to coax audio converter. But opted for a new streaming blu ray player that has dig audio output port instead.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
