First, when we got Roku I thought it was a great idea. Course we added it to our smart tv which already had the same options as Roku. I liked the interface of the Roku better, but the internet connection was worse so I end up using the smart tv options for anything video and the Roku for music. Would have returned the Roku but ran out of time. so if you do not have a smart tv, then Roku is a good choice. If you do have a smart tv then don't bother.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased the Roku 3 having owned an original Roku Player for years. I was having trouble with buffering and lockups, hoping the new player would help. Streaming and quality are much better with the Roku 3 and lockups are only seconds when and if they occur. We are on DSL which I doubt ever reaches 1.5MB. The new player works significantly better.

This is hands down; the best single purchase of any kind, that i have ever made. Bar none. This device has changed my life. It grabs TWO wireless signals, just in case one falters. Since i got this product, my viewing experience has been unparallelled. I havent dropped a signal and my program has not frozen. I could not recommend this product more.

I tried the dvd player wifi attachment etc...It just doesn't work, I wasn't sure about this device so said what the heck and boy am I glad I did. I watch my YT's on it all the time, I have a sub for Netflix and HuluPlus and they work great...I run mine on wifi and the set up was a no brainer, it took me longer to unbox it than it did to set it up.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very easy to set up and use. Lots of channels and options, but we mostly use Netflix. Been happy to cut the cord and Roku has made it easy to do so

I had the Roku2 that got fried in a power surge, I loved it. My surprise is that the Roku3 is even better. The ear phones let me watch something without bothering my wife in the next room.

Closed Captioning unusable for me.

I bought my ROKU 3 a month ago and I am unable to use it because of a malfunctioning Closed Captioning feature. I have given it to someone who is not hearing impaired. I now have two older units that have worked fine for me and I am still using them. I am very happy with both of these units. I felt that it was too much of a problem sending the ROKU 3 back for repair or replacement.
