Excellent!!!! Couldn't be happier

The decision to quit cable tv and go Roku is the best money saver thing I did. My tv is now a customized stereo, fun way to watch Utube and the ear phones are great for a late night watch of tv. We all are enjoying the Netflix series that we each like, I watch tv more now then I ever did......in one month I got my return on my investment on cable tv savings from buying this Roku, I want another.... :)

Hdmi copy protection requires daily reboots

This version adds hdmi copy protection. Nearly every day, the roku gives me an hdcp error and won't show a picture. I then have to reboot the roku for it to work. It's not the cable or the port, and no device (eg appletv or earlier rokus) does this. It seems to be a problem with this new model, and has moved it from being my primary device to one I almost never use. What a shame.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A Must Have!!

I absolutely love the Roku! Paired with Netflix, I have all the entertainment that I need. I am always finding and adding new channels. The content is always evolving for the better and I am never bored! I own three Roku units. I can't imagine doing without.

No good free channels

I bought yesterday and after setting it up found that evrything worthwhile warching had a fee. ie any TV shows cost $1.99 per episode eg blacklist, true blood, madame secretary etc. You have to subscribe to a premium channel to get any decent movies.Only thing for free are things nobody wants to see or can more readily be watched on regular TV.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quite an improvement, but...

The only complaint I had with my two previous models (Stick and Roku1) was the lack of range for the wifi receiver. The Roku 3 has taken care of that problem; however, it has created a new inconvenience. When I access the device after a week of non-use, it won't access anything unless I unplug and replug the unit. Then it works fine. Not catastrophic, but still a pain. I like everything else about the unit, but I think it's a little pricey.
