Oh My Gosh! Roku is so Awesome, it's unbelievable! 8D
I have a Roku 2 XS (which is best for me), since it can be used on a Digital or a CRT TV, plus it has a Micro SD Card slot as well as a USB port. That way, I can watch content on my TV from my Android Smart Phone or from my PC.
The Roku 2 XS model is top-of-the-line.
The Roku Player is so easy to set up and easy to use, even a caveman can do it!
The number of Roku Channels available is simply incredible and the content is excellent, offering something for everyone. There are literally thousands of Free Channels, countless other channels that you can purchase for a one-time charge from .99 cents to only $4.99, Plus a few websites that offer huge lists of Hidden, Private Roku Channels (such as Crackle, CNN and Justin TV), as well as adult content.
But Wait, There’s More!
• Roku frequently launches new channels in the Roku Channel Store, so check the Roku Channel Guide online for new channels, or subscribe to the Roku Newsletter.
• With the Plex Channel you can easily access your personal movies and music stored on your PC or media server, watch downloaded content, share media with other users and access their shared libraries.
• You can link your Facebook account to the Facebook Channel on your Roku Player.
• You can get the Roku Remote App for your phone, which comes in handy in case you ever lose your Roku Remote.
• All Roku 2 Players have a Bluetooth receiver built-in, but only the Roku 2 XS includes the Roku Bluetooth Game Remote.
• You can play casual games on your Roku Player! There are nearly 100 fun and popular games to choose from. Many are free, or as little as .99 cents each, and 1-click ordering makes it easy but you can set a PIN to prevent unauthorized purchases.
• You have choices. You are in control.
Roku is an excellent value that is well worth your hard earned money spent on it, and there are no exorbitant and ever-increasing monthly fees like the cable company charges. With a Roku Player there are no yearly contracts, no recurring charges, no hefty fees for a technician to install or realign equipment, and you don’t have to worry about your service being affected by the weather or your signal going out every time the wind blows, like with Satellite TV.
It is cheaper to buy a Roku 2 XS (or 3) Player, a price you only have to pay, like… ONCE, than it is to pay the average cable bill for just one month of service. The amount you will save in one year’s time adds up to a whole lot of money that could be used for more important things in your life, and you won’t be stuck paying an unjustifiably high price for subpar services.
Roku has over 100,000 movies and TV shows, and more than 1,200 channels! With so many channels available you will keep busy for quite some time and won’t even miss cable TV!
There’s a TON of entertainment in this little Roku box. All in all it provides the most bang for your buck.
Roku is the greatest thing since sliced bread! :)

ROKU - downgrade in function

ROKU 2 XS has a separate audio/video out feed in addition to HDMI out feed which enabled listening to Pandora music without having a TV on or rerouting cables to set up another listening device. The ROKU 3 deleted this extra audio out feed. I used the ROKU 2 XS additional audio out to drive a Sennheiser Transmitter/headset ( TV is off and in the network using the HDMI interface) which I find is an ideal around the house and in the yard listening medium. The ROKU 3 remote/audio is limited in range, approx. 25 feet unobstructed, and with headset installed is pretty much a nuisance with cable bundle monitoring and having to hang onto the remote instead of setting it down.

Micro SD Card for Roku 3

No documentation of max card capacity/speed anywhere--terrible waste of my time. I finally found a 4gb Class 4 card that formats correctly. Don't try a Class10 or faster card--not recognized by Roku 3.

We Will, We Will ROKU!!!

I've recently discovered that Roku is one of those exceptional companies who seek to include and listen to their customers, which is a rare and cool thing to find in this, and any, age. Easily one of the family in any household, including mine, Roku constantly strives and works hard to give us what we want: our choice in a never-ending variety of innovative, televised and digital entertainment, right at home! Since buying my first model in early 2012, I have fallen more and more in love with the versatile Roku device over time, even personally advocating the "Piano Black Box" to friends and family as my new primary audio and video entertainment device. Unequivocally the #1 streaming device out there right now, Roku should be one of the products that continue to perform well despite a flagging economy, especially with more and more people, like me, disenchanted with cable, looking for a more viable entertainment alternative for their financially exhausted households.
Pros: Free Channels, Excellent Ui, Search Options, Compact, Easy to use, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to set up, Channel Selection
Cons: Remote eats batteries, Bloatware Games, Paid And Adware Channels

I purchased this box from Amazon so that I could stream Amazon Prime. It seems to be very easy to navigate and the quality of picture is fantastic. I will say that it is impossible to get away from all of the pay sites and tv and movie options that cost an extra fee. If you want to stream video, this box looks great. However, you have to weed through and constantly avoid all of the extra add on features that make this box an incredible sales tool. Beware, this box isn't just for streaming, its also for streaming your bank account clean.

Love the idea of streaming, and hope it takes off. Right now it is frustrating sometime. Some programs/channels you can watch all the way through with just one intial buffering delay. Others stop and start so often, we have to turn it off. It would be great to know if this bebuse of the internet, my modem, my router, the channel, Roku? at the moment I have no idea why it stops to reboot. When it works smoothly, I love it, and feel it is the future of watching TV if the bugs can be sortd. I have not tried anyother product than Roku. I have 15mps broadband, and Cisco E2000 wirless router, so I think the power is there to drive the Roku3.
Pros: Simple Controls, Fast Setup, Attractive Design
Cons: Owner Opton To Updates, Could Show More Informati

roku hd is better

the video setup should allow other than 720 and 1080.. because problems arise that you have to either reverse cables or buy different cables to make it work.. check your users on google and you will see that a great number are dissatisfied with roku 3 .. I have 3 roku hd that work fine .. I only bought roku3 for its direct connection to ethernet..
Pros: Simple Controls, Attractive Design
Cons: Errors On Video Screen, Does Not Improve Audio/Video
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
